We use local Cruze Farm milk and buttermilk, source eggs from cage free/hormone free sources, use pure cane sugar and of course. Magpies was born in 1992 to founder Peg Hambright. She was a graphic designer/illustrator/musician college drop-out who just wanted to make stuff. Her love of process, sugar and her desire for immediate gratification made baked goods a perfect fit.

Services
Baked fresh to order, our cakes are available in three flavor categories-classic, deluxe, and super deluxe-and eight standard sizes, serving anywhere from 1 to 100. See the full menu for details. We can accommodate most orders with two days' notice, but we bake extras every day for cake emergencies.
We've made thousands of couples happy on their special day and want this process to be as fun and stress-free as possible. You can also send photos of inspiration cakes, colors, and themes to weddings@magpiescakes.com. If you don't know what you want, don't worry! We'll work with you to create the perfect cake.
Our average custom cake order we fulfill is $225+ for single tier round cakes and $400+ multi-tier round cakes. We are limited to the number of custom orders we are able to take, and orders are taken on a first come, first served basis. Sending images of cakes is a great way to help us know what your expectations are and increases the efficiency of the process tremendously.
We make these delicious morsels from scratch every day, using the finest ingredients available, and of course, all butter all the time. We stock the case with delightful assortments of mini cupcakes in dozens and six-packs daily, adding a seasonal super deluxe flavor every month. Regular size cupcakes are available as well, but if you need a quantity of more than a dozen or so, please call us a day ahead.

One of the best bakeries in Knoxville. If you need a customized cake please order a week or two in advance. Their chocolate fudge is the best one and the one in the picture below is 5” cake which serves 4-7 people easily. They use quality ingredients and have elegant cake designs. Other than cakes they also have cake crumbs, cookies and muffins. The cake shop has a very pleasant look and you can see the staff working on the cakes which is very interesting.

Was craving a fresh, real Carrot Cake and it definitely hit the spot! Called in the day before and they had a fresh one waiting for me the next day. Very yummy. Only critique was a little heavy on the cream cheese frosting- but better to have more than not enough! Cost was $25 for a 5 inch, several layers - in comparison to a nasty $15 spice cake at Kroger it was worth it :)

The first thing any new visitor will notice the moment they enter this shop is a sweet and pleasant smell of vanilla/coconut when they enter this shop.
They definitely have a large number of options when it comes to party cakes, cupcakes, cookies and other sweets. Tried the chocolate cake there and it was delicious. Highly recommended!

Great experience here. I ordered some mini cupcakes online for a gathering I was having. When I arrived to pick them up, the staff was so friendly (it was also neat to watch them work on cakes right there on front of you!) and they gave me a free cupcake for my birthday. I chose red velvet and it was DELICIOUS! Highly recommend. Next time, I think I will order a full red velvet cake.

Magpies is the perfect baker for all your wedding needs. Katie and everyone else at the shop was so easy to work with and their product is amazing. They created the most beautiful looking and tasting wedding cake for our wedding. They seemed very accommodating with different budgets and were able to give us an amazing product for a very reasonable price.

I'm working my way through all the options and loving each item I try. I might be gaining a few lbs but it's worth it.
I can't believe how good the cookies, cakes and cupcakes are. I died and went to heaven. If I was on death row, I'd request the sprinkle cream pie cookies. Last meal status, fer sure.

My son had a meet in Knoxville on his birthday, so to make it special, we decided to throw him a party before the meet. Not familiar with the area, I turned to Yelp for the best, closest bakery to where the party would be. Magpies came up and after drooling over their treats on their website and Instagram, I knew they would be the perfect place to order his birthday cake.

My family and I love their cakes and order them for every special occasion. Recently though, I called to pick up a birthday cake that day using their pre made cakes. I wanted it decorated and to have writing on it. Unfortunately, the wouldn't allow me to pay over the phone and go ahead and decorate the cake. They said I had to drive there and if that cake was still available, they would decorate it for me. I wasn't willing to drive 30 minutes to see if the cake was still available and wait for them to decorate. I don't think this is the best way to treat customers and will probably

I hadn't had a magpies cupcake since we closed on our house almost 4 years ago. I can't believe it took me so long to get downtown to this amazing bakery. We couldn't decide what we wanted but the staff was patient as we checked out what they had to offer in their front cases. We ended up getting a dozen deluxe mini cupcakes, which come with six different varieties. Besides cakes and cupcakes they also offer cookies, banana pudding, pies and, other sweet treats. They even have branded merchandise including baby onesies. I will definitely not wait so long to visit them again and

My go to bakery for cakes of all sorts. When you enter, well when I entered, I noticed a little set up of free mini cupcakes! They had mocha, red velvet, and strawberry flavors; all of which I tried and all of which were moist and not too sweet. Great find! To the left is a sale section. That's where you should go! The deals are sick. Extremely cheap for one day off goods. I came here for a birthday cake for another yelper and went with the oreo cheesecake. I was debating between that and the lemon cake and I should have went with lemon - she loves her lemon! Regardless, she loved it. I enjoyed

At first, I didn't understand how to get a Magpies confection. The storefront is really their industrial bakery and (apart from a modest showcase of items which sell out quickly) most people seem to stop in just to pick up pre-ordered cakes. Okay, so now that I've spent some more time in these parts I finally get how it works. And now I'm addicted! Lucky me....Magpies is sold in my local Kroger store. Oh yeah baby!!! You know I check in there like 4 times a day for good reason. :) But you can also find Magpies for dessert at Holly's or at Three Rivers. Just check out online
