When I set out to build this restaurant I said we want to remain simple and true to our food and our customers. Value, freshness, and community focus are only part of the story. Simple - You won't find layer after layer of different flavors here. What you will find are simple recipes executed well, time after time.
A lot of our food comes from our Appalachian roots and we strive to take it seriously and maintain our quality through common sense practices. Fresh - A lot of people say it, but we live by it. Our vegetables are always prepared fresh from great, sustainable products. Yes we buy local but we also have great supply partners from all aspects of the food world.

When we first started talking about our concept of fresh foods and a southern comfort foods restaurant, of course green beans came into play in the conversation. As I spoke with various suppliers about this they would make comments like, "We have a great Italian cut green bean that would work for you".
Several years ago I had the distinct pleasure of catering for a lady by the name of Sally Chapman. A striking lady who had graced the cover of Vogue no less than six times. She was also the granddaughter of George P. Putnam, Amelia Earhart's husband. A great tipper, and she loved to chat with us before and after the events held at her home.

The food is usually quite good, so we get takeout often. I wanna give a shout out to the young servers, and especially the young women who staff the take out counter, because they're the best at providing great customer service we've ever encountered in a restaurant. Dean's really should pay them more, because without them we probably wouldn't eat there as often. Good staff are priceless.

Really cute place. There are historic pictures documenting the previous functions of the building, adding a unique charm to the atmosphere. The server was very attentive and kind, he explained what he would recommend and was quick. I was convinced to try the special tea they sell here, and I was not disappointed. It was really good! I ordered a salad and was very full at the end of my meal. I also tried some of what my husband had ordered. Of that, the mac and cheese was phenomenal! Where do I start. This place is awesome and amazing. Great atmosphere and customer service. I had seen this place before and thought it was just a bakery. Boy, was I wrong. The food is amazing and the dessert are awesome. Love the carrot cake and German chocolate cake. Not to mention the banana pudding it reminded me of my mom's.

Had lunch here today after hearing about this place. I had the salmon with mac and cheese, sweet potato casserole, and green beans while my boyfriend had the pot roast with mashed potatoes, grilled corn cob, and carrots. The cornbread that comes out first is absolutely delicious and so soft. The rolls are run of the mill yeast rolls so just ask for cornbread only. My salmon was wonderfully tender and juicy with a lovely flavor. Really excellent salmon for the price. I loved their macaroni and cheese and just how spiced the sweet potatoes were. I unfortunately found the green beans to be inedible

I have no idea how we didn’t find this place until now, but I’m sad for all the cornbread muffins I didn’t have until we found Dean’s.
Our experience here was just outstanding. Fully staffed (crazy in these times) and everything was sparkling clean and running efficiently. Our server was a gem and the food was absolutely delicious. Do not miss the desserts! We picked up a couple of things from the bakery side to take home and we will absolutely be back!

Great food and amazing service. We were greeted immediately upon entering and sat in a booth/table combo.
The waitress came to our table quickly and took our order within a timely manner. The food was brought out within a short time and tasted great. I ordered the turkey club with deviled eggs as a side. We were in and out in under an hour during lunchtime.
I will definitely be back for more great food and friendly service!
