WARNING: Do NOT buy your loved ones gift certificates to the Kura Door. They will not be able to book them. I guess that is a good thing as to the quality of the experience, but Kura Door is overselling their gift certificates and is not able to accommodate them. I have a pile of 4 gift certificates and can't use them unless I book a month or more-in. BOOOO! Very, very disappointing.

The massage therapist did a good job, products are good quality but can be found everywhere where you are treated better. unfortunately using covid as an excuse not to provide sauna room or tea Just to cut off on expenses while the spa dirty, dusty, not clean. This place was AMAZING. Went in for a couple’s massage — Our therapists were very professional and very kind. My therapist identified every single trouble spot without me even communicating anything to her (my left hip from an atv accident, my left shoulder from riding a motorcycle, and my neck from sleeping) Environment is very clean and soothing, clean robes, slippers and spring water provided. Place is super zen. Has a peaceful and quiet ambiance to it. There is a lot of attention to detail from the quality of the robes to the option you have to choice the aroma of your oil. The massage was fantastic. I got to specify which area to target. Left feeling relaxed and I can't wait to go back.

I had a massage with Lauren that my husband scheduled and surprised me with. I’ve heard good things about The Kura Door - and now I see why. The spa was relaxing and clean. They provided me with disposable slippers to wear into the spa area and a boxed water after the massage. The massage (I had a 60 minute Samurai) was wonderful. The table was heated warm which was nice because it was rainy outside. Music was relaxing and there wasn’t any other distracting sounds happening at the time. Have tried to use my gift certificate twice in the last 6 months. Both times I have gotten the opposite information and was told I can't use the whole package, yet I can't split it up. Today I was told I can use the dollar amount, but then I won't be able to get every service in the package. Extremely disappointed. I requested a Kura relaxation massage and it was anything but. The service was in a room that looked like it was previously used for spa treatments with cold tile floors and showers. There were space heaters running that were noisy and overwhelmed the music playing in the background and they also didn't heat the space very well. My massage was also not what I expected from an upper end type spa. The therapist repeatedly used one stroke with her elbow down my spine that quickly became irritating and then painful. My absolute favorite massage establishment in Utah. Arrive at least 30 minutes early, if not more, to enjoy the steam room and sauna before your treatment. Although I typically request a specific therapist, anytime she is booked I am still pleased with any therapist I receive. All the staff are highly competent and professional.

O-M-G!! Can Kura Door open a location in San Francisco because this would seriously be my spot! My fiance and I make it a mission to ALWAYS get massages whether we're traveling domestically, internationally or once a month in our hometown. We booked (2) 1 hour baths in a shared private bath tub along with 1 hour massages in separate rooms. The bath had their own bath attendant which walked us through the Japanese bath ritual which was nice. I really wanted to love this place. It's beautiful and tranquil. However, I left feeling like my deep tissue massage was just okay and there was this weird washcloth pull on my neck that kinda hurt while it was happening. Well, here I am, over a week later, with a painful burn still on both sides of my neck from the stupid washcloth. The marks are extremely noticeable and look like someone tried to strangle me. Not exactly the results I was hoping for with a "relaxing" spa day. I don't think I'll be back.

If you're looking for a quality spa with a rejuvenating experience, I highly recommend this place. However, I've noticed small details here and there that makes this place sub par to my experience almost three years ago, I refuse to believe that in such a short period of time the standards have gone down. These prices aren't cheap by any means and they're just on the verge of luxury prices, so I expect that level of service.

I'm not a "spa guy"---I don't like wearing slippers and a robe in public. Walking into the Kura Door felt like I was entering a ninja secret hideout in a spaghetti western. However, I was completely converted by a sensational 90-minute massage (the "Kura Door"). The Avenues spa has a Japanese aesthetic, tasteful decorated with relaxing music and low lighting. My massage therapist, Kierstie, was extremely skilled, bringing both strength and agile grace to the massage. Her massage varied elements of heat, pressure and texture.

Prior to knee surgery, I decided to take myself out on a day-long date. It goes without saying that the Kura Door was the main star of the day. I am absolutely in love with this place. The Kura Door offers the ultimate pampering in a Japanese style setting - a Ryokan (or bath house).
The Kura Door offers all types of services, from manicures/pedicures, 60-120 min massages, traditional Japanese baths, facials, and a plethora of other body wellness treatments. Their services can be fairly pricey, but well worth it.
