Growing Wild Floral
The inspiration for the name came from riding through fields of wild flowers on her horse, Cookie. Flowers were picked and placed in baskets attached to the saddle and brought back to the stable. Whatever Cookie didn't eat was used for floral arrangements. Barbara's very first wedding was done on the side of the barn.

Today, Barbara works together with a team of floral designers and assistants out of the design studio located on her farm in Delaplane, Virginia. Together, they have done over 1600 weddings since its inception ranging in size from 30 to 300. Venues include large trendy downtown DC hotels and mansions to rustic barns and vineyards.
Services
The industry standard pricing for florists is typically 3 to 5 times the wholesale price per stem. We price differently at Growing Wild. Our prices are standard, regardless of the types of flowers you choose (though a few flowers such as calla lilies or peonies are so expensive we do have a small surcharge).
Growing Wild was the perfect florist for us!. Barbara was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, punctual, professional, and a great florist for our wedding. Barbara is a genius, if you give her an outline of what you'd like and let her have flexibility she delivers above and beyond what you can imagine!
While not necessary, it is helpful to have already selected the bridesmaids' dress color(s) before you meet. Even better, bring along any pictures of flowers, bouquets, arrangements, etc. Access to your Pinterest board for floral ideas is very helpful. You do not have to know anything about flowers for the consultation.
