Kickapoo Creek Winery's 250 rolling farm acres in the Illinois River Valley feels like a step into Napa. Owned by Dr. David Conner, he envisioned a magical venue for weddings, special events, catering & daily visitors from Peoria, Bloomington, Central Illinois and truly throughout the country to luxuriate in.
Services
Dr. David Conner, now a retired Orthopedic Surgeon, purchased the 250 acres back in the 1980's. It was a thoroughbred horse farm at the time. Dr. Conner turned it into a cattle farm until he got tired of chasing cows around. In the early 1990's, he sold the cows and started Conner Nursery & Gardens.

Not sure what is going on here. I am a regular with my wife but the new year has brought new changes. I believe the GM is an ex sales girl who couldn't get our wedding due to the lack problem solving skills so I assume making her GM is a great thing to do. Food is still pretty good. They have changed a few things in the last 4-6 weeks, the fries are really good now but some other things have changed for the wrong direction. Hopefully they figure it out and go back to the old model of it isn't broke don't fix it. Cheaper isn't always better.

The wine is the best in the area. My favorite for sweet wine is Two Berry and Strawberry Chocolate. For I nice red that goes with everything I love the Nukeenee (spelled incorrectly). The ambiance of the place is a little lacking inside, but they have made great improvements to the outside and meeting the Covid restrictions.

Friendly and accommodating service. My server, Tiffany, was polite, friendly, and efficient. I ordered the "5 for $5" wine flight and to eat, their super mushroom burger.

The wine flight I chose was the "Dry Wines" with samples being and my taste score below:
Misty Creek (w) 3.5/5
Red October (r) 4.2/5
Norton (r) 3.4/5
Kickapoo Blush (w) 3.5/5
Sun Kiss 4.0/5

I'm not a big fan of white wines, but was pleasantly surprised by the taste of Sun Kiss. The Red October was my overall favorite with taste and body.

My sandwich was hot off the griddle and humongous. It consisted

Our first Harvest Host stopover and it was great! Large gravel parking lot, great food, music and our dog could come with us! Bought a bottle of wine for our daughter. Very nice people too!

What a hidden gem! My husband and I sat at the bar on a Sunday afternoon. We each had a flight of 5 tastings. Jennifer was great at recommending which wines to try. She was very friendly and attentive. We loved every wine we tasted. The sangria was my favorite. We also ordered 3 appetizers; green tomatoes, crab cakes and spinach artichoke dip. All were delicious and the presentation was awesome. We can't wait to go back.

This was my first visit to a winery and vineyard, but my wife and I had a wonderful time. The food was tasty and the vineyard was cool. There aren't many selections on the menu, but it feels intentional and we appreciated not having to read a book to order our lunch. My Italian sandwich was very good. Lots of meats, melted cheese, and flavor. We also had a wine tasting. The tastings are very reasonably priced $3-$5. And you get to sample your choice of 4 or 5 wines. My wife tried several reds and I sampled the fruitier options. Enjoyed them enough to leave with three bottles. The restaurant

One of our favorite things to do is to taste wine. We were not disappointed with their wine. They also serve food too which was perfect as we were starved. We did the tasting of 2 white and 3 reds. Sun kiss was our favorite of the day. This winery also has a big banquet room for parties and weddings. The grounds were so beautiful. You are free to walk about them!!

Just for the winery itself, a beautiful area with visible vineyards in the front.
Friendly service at the tasting room, perfect fire easy conversation without stuffiness of elite winery yet knowledgeable.
We just missed the time for lunch but they looked like they had a decent offering. Also had fun themed events like a murder mystery dinner.
Kid friendly which is helpful. Owner has a little kid so it was nice.
Wines were all quite tasty. Illinois wines tend to be quite sweet so they have some really good dessert wines. If you like dry, oaky flavors, it's harder to find.
Definitely fun

Had lunch here and had the turkey club wrap and the wine tasting. Not bad for a small town and the staff is very friendly and nice.

Looked for a new venue for Easter Brunch and decided on this location. The buffet was perhaps the worst we have experienced. It was certainly the worst of places that should be mid to higher end brunch locales in our area. None of the food items were anywhere near hot, in fact they were barely above room temperature, the flavor was bland, and the quality was lacking. Between the 4 of us we sampled nearly every option including desserts and there was not a single offering that any of us suggested the others try. Coffee was luke warm as well. You literally could gulp the coffee immediately after

Went there for Easter Sun brunch
Eggs were cold so we're the mini mini chopped up potatoes. Fresh omelet was good. Salmon looked white and uneatable
And judging from it being untouched people agreed. OJ tasted funny and was served in plastic cup. Dessert was store bought and uneventful. Just seemed poor quality food for its hefty $25 pay in advance per person ticket price.

I have fallen for this winery very hard! I don't know if it's the scenery that surrounds it, the jambalaya shrimp pasta, the fantastic ranch dressing, or the wine slushies! It also has a beautil space to have a wedding or reception. We also had local cheese & crackers that were just the right touch to finish our afternoon. We are not from the area, but the drive was worth it!

The staff & owner were very friendly and it was busy. The owner came over to provide us with water and showed us pictures from the family run business. The wine tasting host was great but was trying to help everyone which took her away from providing us info on the wine. Our food was bland and we had to send out flatbread back twice due to miscommunication on my husband requesting no meat on the bread. I ordered ahi tuna and it was bland and overcooked, very dry. The flatbread and side salad was tasty.

The friendly service helped the bad experience, it was unfortunate because we drove

Was looking forward to having a lovely day drinking wine for my birthday before the extremely poor service started turn things for the downhill! First, I was told to be ready for the wine tour exactly at 12 because the tour guide likes to be very prompt. Boy was that a huge LIE!

My friends and I reached at 11 to eat lunch before the wine tour started. At 11:50 or so we find out that the food was not even getting made and we had to be ready for the tour by 12. I don't know why it never crossed anyone's mind that our food was not served after seeing no food on our tables after the half

A nice rustic winery in Kickapoo, which is just outside of Peoria. The wine tasting at Kickapoo Creek is very affordable at $3 for five tastings or for $5 you can also keep the glass. The wine stewards are nice and very easy going. When I go with a group of friends, they were great with accommodating our different preferences.

Some of my favorites:
Jubilee Gold - sweet white wine. Very smooth
Red October - dry red, not too intense but great on flavor
Dave - very sweet with strawberry and peach flavors. Highly recommended for those who are sweet wine drinkers
Nookeenay Meskaai - semi-sweet
