The double hung window style has two sashes that operate vertically for ventilation from either the top or bottom of the window unit. Both sashes may tilt in for safe and easy cleaning from inside the home. Balancers counter the weight of the sashes to provide easy operation and to allow the sashes to remain open in any position.
Sliding windows, also known as gliding windows, slider windows or pocket sliders operate horizontally with one sash sliding in a pocket past the other to provide ventilation. Many ranch style homes are designed around the look of the horizontal sliding window. I had a very great experience with Window Source. The whole process was seamless and hassle free. The quote and cost of replacing the windows was very competitive and the workmanship was superb. The owners (Becca and Chris) and the the installers were very polite and respectful during the entire process. At no time did I feel rushed and after the install, they cleaned up very good. I have a few more windows for the remainder of my phased project and they absolutely have my business. I highly recommend this company.

When searching for windows I was quoted a VERY wide range of prices. Then I came across Chris Pound at The Window Source DFW. They had great reviews and I was impressed the owner Chris comes out to do all his bids. This means paying no middleman and savings to his customers. Now on to quality, some say you get what you pay for. Well in this case we got some very high quality windows and a fair price. We live in a nice neighborhood and quality was important and The Window Source delivered. For anyone window shopping I would highly recommend at least getting a bid and meeting Chris. They are honest

If I could give more than five stars I would! The experience was effortless on my part and an excellent performance on behalf of The Window Source. From the initial call and estimate with Chris and Becca Pound, to the completion of the job, with a satisfaction call from Chris after the installation superb service, with attention to detail was given. The price was more than fair for the quality windows I would be getting. There was a request made for the installers to arrive with masks for their faces, they were all happy to oblige. The windows were installed and I could tell an immediate difference

Their professionalism and craft goes way beyond the standard level in this industry. We know because previously we had several windows in our home replaced by other companies who left us with a "it will do" feeling. Recently we hired TWS to replace 5 windows in our home, renovate the entire hallway in new shiplap, and frame out the windows in a rustic style. It came out beautifully and we could not be happier.
