Welcome to Bernie's Restaurant & Bar - Hatboro, an experience like nothing you've had before in casual dining. From our comfortable dining room and two private party rooms to our expansive bar, you can find any excuse to make Bernie's in Hatboro your second home! All of our food is freshly prepared and in addition to our acclaimed menu items, our chefs do daily specials that complement our fine wines and extensive craft beer selections.
Bernice Kretschman, a.k.a "Bernie" is the owner's grandmother. She was the mother of four boys, all of whom grew up and remained in and around the Glenside and Roslyn areas with their families. Her signature family event was Sunday Dinners. While many extended families get together on holidays or birthdays, she hosted Sunday Dinner every Sunday for 35 years at her house on Fairhill Avenue in Glenside.

So one day, the owner saw a vacant site on the corner of Highland Avenue and Wharton Road in Glenside. To be totally honest, he passed it twice a day for 3 years before he had the bright idea that the site could be the new home for Bernie's. The site had a lot to offer.located in Glenside, the hometown of the owner; close to Jenkintown and the Old York Road corridor and a few blocks away from the Keswick Theater.
There's always something fun happening at Bernie's. We do special events throughout the year during sporting events, Philly Beer Week and the change of seasons. Look out for the next event below! In the meantime, join us Monday through Friday 4-6pm for Happy Hour! We also have live music every Saturday brunch.

Decor was really nice. The way it's all set. Staff was very polite and attentive. The grilled cheese was not tasty at all. The bread was burnt, the cheese was tough not smooth and creamy. The fries were cold and limp. How can you mess up a staple food like fries and grilled cheese. Especially when there was only 4 patrons in the place.

This review is dedicated to the GREATEST server I've ever had: Ross!!! I went to Bernie's to meet with a friend I haven't seen since March 2020. Still COVID-anxious, I had reserved a seat outisde...and in the middle of November. Ross did EVERYTHING to make sure we were comfortable outside, but what I didn't know was that this was dinner and a comedy show!!! Ross was making us laugh the ENTIRE night. It honestly felt like I was dining with family. I was so sad when dinner was over because I didn't want to part ways with Ross and the INCREDIBLE kitchen that made us the most INNOVATIVE WRAPS I'VE

We go to Bernie's quite often but New Years Eve dinner was terrible. It wasn't crowded at all and had the staff; however, they got my order wrong. They brought the right order out quickly but it was raw. Sent it back and had to wait. I was eating after the 3 other people in my party were done.
Very disappointed in the service that night and no offer for a discount or anything. Our bill was over $150.00 too.

First time here with my husband. we are not coming back. The experience was horrible. my soup of the day came cold. I refuse to get another one. my daughter plate came in glass which is not smart gave me no Utensils for the child. My husband food had flies flying all around him the whole time he tried to eat. His stomach got so upset after eating there.
The person we had put no effort in telling us what’s good there. We explained the fly situation and he said nothing but smile. My husband feels the place is not clean to have so much flies around you while trying to eat.

So this place has a great ambiance. I really like the decor, the setup, the live music during brunch. The menu items are great. Little pricey but on first observation, seemed it was going to be worth it. We sat at the bar as they said it would be a 45 minute wait for a table. Although we saw many many tables open, I figured it’s a staffing issue. No problem, totally understandable. We go to the bar and the bartender just seemed that it was the last place she wanted to be. Got brunch today with my friend. It was about 1pm on a Saturday and there was a DJ blasting music which was co fusing to me since my plan was to catch up with my friend but it was difficult to do since we couldn't hear each other. I ordered the smoked salmon avocado toast which was delicious but so small. My friend ordered the crispy chicken salad which she said was OKAY but she didn't like thr dressing and barely ate half.
Overall it was an alright experience. I enjoyed my meal but with the portion size and loud music it was difficult to fully enjoy the experience.

I recently hosted a surprise Engagement/Going away party for my best friend here. We had about 40 people attend. The atmosphere was perfect. We were able to get in early to set-up the decorations. One of our servers even helped us build our balloon arch! The servers/bar tenders were so helpful and attentive and the food was delicious! I would recommend Bernie's to anyone for a party like this.
