Maybe you're experiencing some changes in your life, or confusion, or perhaps you're just stuck. Maybe something just doesn't feel right. You're ready to move forward and feel better but you're not sure how to do that. Many times, avoiding the feelings is actually what causes us to feel like we're just spinning our wheels.

To me, this is an invitation to change how you approach a situation. I believe that we are innately motivated to heal, and that once we acknowledge where we've been, we can map out a way to a richer, fuller way of life. That is where psychotherapy comes in: I can be an ally who can help you navigate through life's transitions and struggles.
Services
I am a psychotherapist in private practice in central Austin. I provide individual psychotherapy, couples counseling, and group therapy for young adults and adults. My focus is on issues of depression, anxiety, current and past trauma, crisis, loss and grief, relationship conflict, couples communication and improving intimacy.
My approach is compassionate and collaborative. You and I will work together in the context of a safe, trusting relationship to look at the areas in your life where you feel like you're stuck. As Dr. Daniel Siegel says, human beings are hardwired to connect to each other, and in that connecting we are changed.
No two people grieve in the same way. Each person copes with loss differently and that's exactly as it should be. But because of the very personal and individual nature of grieving, the process itself can be isolating and for some, even a little frightening. You do not have to grieve alone. Grief Counseling can provide the support you need going through that process.
Couples come to couples counseling for a variety of reasons: problems communicating, dissatisfaction with their sex life, conflicts over parenting, issues with blended families, fights over money, conflicts with in-laws or loss of emotional intimacy. I believe that healthy relationships are necessary for healthy humans.
Groups are a powerful vehicle for understanding and exploring feelings. Group therapy provides a safe environment where members can look at how they relate to themselves and others, experiment with new ways of relating and be changed by that process. I lead weekly ongoing psychotherapy groups where clients can receive support and feedback and learn to connect with other members.

Maybe I was just too angry, hurt and frustrated to get much out of my sessions. Expensive and I feel it didnt help either of us. Also timid to post this because that was just my personal experience. For other people it may work perfectly.
