This is my 50th anniversary in the Real Estate field. I began in Columbus, Ohio and have been licensed in Florida since 1989. I obtained my Broker's License in 2001 and opened my own brokerage at that time. In 2015, I decided to expand, bought out an existing company, and merged it with Florida West Coast Realty, Inc forming a DBA Avant Properties.
I was born in Columbus, Ohio and moved to Florida with my family in 1989. I basically have lived my whole life in Englewood. I attended the local's schools here, and attended Saint Leo University, St. Leo, Fl where I obtained my bachelor's degree in business administration specialization in management in 2004.

I have been renting from West Coast Realty since moving to Sarasota in fall of 2020. Amy & Jean are so responsive and kind. Any time I've needed anything fixed in the rental they either responded the same day or the very next day, keeping me informed of who was coming out and when they would be arriving. Honestly, from the nightmare stories I've read in dealing with real estate/rental companies I didn't expect to receive such GREAT communication, coordination and kindness. These two ladies care very much about their clients!

After signing a contract and paying the money we were told the owners wanted to stay an extra 15 day causing us to change our plans..... after finally getting into the property, I surveyed the cleanliness. The floors were still dirty after wiping up a spill in kitchen. We spent most of our time just the two of us quietly. At the end of our stay we had our 30 year old granddaughters down for a three night visit. Upon our return we were told there was damage. A ring on a side table, a spot on their high ceiling in kitchen? Replacement of a bedspread that had a spot, clean a spot off of outdoor cushion

Beware if You are the tenant renting apartment through Florida West Coast realty. We had a lease for a year, apartment needed cleaning before we moved in (dirty appliances , mater bathroom filthy, stained carpets )
We cleaned the apartment soonest we moved in. After few months building had structural damage, floor tiles in the foyer lifted off the floor about 2" ,we had to wait over a month to get it fixed!
No discount for inconvenience!
After we moved out we cleaned the apartment so it was in super shape compering time when we moved in.
On the end we got screwed for $125.00 (stain on the carpet

I have never had a bad experience with Florida West Coast Realty. They were very attentive and caring. Being that this is a family business you can feel the familyness that they bring. They want each and every client they have to feel like family and treated like family. The apartment I leased was very clean and in great shape. I was very pleased with it and the whole leasing process. As for the other review, I think this person is mistaken by some other company. If there is a problem with a unit it is addressed ASAP, and everything is done to make things right. Even outside of regular business
