Mike Stern has played with likes of Miles Davis. He was named Best Jazz Guitarist of 1993 by Guitar Player magazine. In 2009 Stern was listed on Down Beat's list of 75 best jazz guitarists of all time.

Here at the collective, we are dedicated to teaching you to become the drummer everyone wants to play with. You can develop the skills to play with anyone, at any venue, in any style. That's why we exist: to prepare you to work as a professional musician. Our method works! We've been one of the top choices for musicians looking to expand their performance skills for forty years.
Because we require our students to have a basic level of skill, and so we can place you in the program that's best for you, you'll need to complete an audition to apply to the school. We will evaluate your current level and place you in the program that best suits your needs. If we feel that you need more rudimentary studies to take advantage of our certificate or diploma programs, we may suggest you start with our Prep-A and Prep-B programs.
We don't have residence halls, but students who need housing are generally able to find apartments, rooms, houses, and other types of lodging in the New York City area. You can get housing assistance through the Student Services Office, where offerings and listings by educational housing providers are maintained.
