The Inn is rich with history with really nice, modern rooms. The bourbon bar is one of a kind with 140 different bourbons and an attached restaurant. The location is perfect with many attractions/historical sites in walking distance.

Second time staying here. Absolute best place to stay in Bardstown. Stayed in the old part first now the newer part second. Very clean and comfortable. Walking distance to everything but actually have all you need right there. Restaurant is superb and if you love bourbon it has every kind imaginable in their bar. NYE was great with a awesome band late night buffet with champagne at midnight. Able to spread out and socially distance so hopefully no regrets.

Okay so I'm only going with a 3 however I would stay here again, just not in the General's Quarter. I would want to try another room before I said I wouldn't stay here again. Food was good, employees were nice. The General's Quarter faces the main road and you can hear everything...Cars all night, people talking in the bar/restaurant, and the truck that blew it's horn at 4:30 made for a good alarm clock. Keeping in mind the nostalgic theme of the room you will need to expect items not to be up to date however I would probably change the bathroom sink out, it has standing water in the bottom and

I brought my parents here because I wanted them to try the Jesse James Ribye. It is a $35.00 steak. It was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.
It had no flavoring at all. It is supposed to be marinated in a bourbon or some other kind of alcohol. Was the worst ribeye and the most expensive one I have ever had. Needless to say, it went to waste. No one ate it.
The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because the service was excellent. (Christine C)

Location, charm and price are all great! But giving 3 stars due to having horrible sleep from a very uncomfortable bed. Stayed in the Jessie James room I assume the bed is very old as it sinks in and we both immediately rolled in to the middle pretty much had to sleep at a slant. On top of that there is a plastic covering around the mattress so every time you move to try and get comfortable you hear the loud crinkle which only keeps you awake longer.

Room was nice. Service not so much, waited a long while to get served in the bar a large group comes in they get served before us so we left to go to the restaurant and same thing others got served before us and came in after we did. I know short help be they didnt even acknowledge we were there. Morning breakfast was soso. We went down the street for a delicious burger got served right away. History at the inn but that's all.

Have not even been able to stay and I can say I NEVER WILL! I was so excited about this adorable place and the fact that guests said it was haunted. However; I should NOT have to call 6 times and leave 2 messages to make a reservation because the young girl doesnt want to do her job. I called and inquired about a king bed, husband is tall, and they only had queens available. Told her I would call her back as did not want to keep her from her other guests while my husband and I discussed the room situation. Called back about 2 min later and 5 other times to leave 2 messages with NO return call.

We were there at 11am for lunch. Walked in and got sat immediately. We both had chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, milk gravy and green beans. Everything was hot, fresh, and seasoned perfectly. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. TALBOTT is always our #1 place to eat when we visit Bardstown!

This was my 2nd time staying here and I'm never disappointed. On this visit I discovered a diamond in the rough! You have a very valuable bartender with incredible talent. Chad is the best bartender that I have come across in a very long time. He has an extreme knowledge of Bourbon. He is attentive, friendly and that's not all. Chad has a "signature" Old Fashioned that has spoiled my sister-in-law and I for life. I had one elsewhere when I came home and it doesn't even come close. I renamed the drink "Chad Fashioned". This was a birthday and Maker's Mark barrel bottling trip and Chad truly made

Ate here for lunch before going on a bourbon tour. We got in and seated quickly. The waitress was very helpful about the selections on the menu. I had the pot roast and enjoyed it. The meat and vegetables were all very tender. My brother got the hot brown after the waitress highly recommended it. He said it was also very good. The prices were very reasonable, as well. We are from Louisville and have had the original hot brown many times. Talbot Inn is a landmark you should take the time to visit when you're in Bardstown. It is one of the oldest continuously operating restuarant/bars in the country
