This isn't just our story - it's your story, too. From the very beginning, the people of Portland have fought to preserve our arts venues and what they stand for. In fact, it was the citizens themselves who built our very first venue. It all began in 1917, when Portland citizens opened the city's first publicly-owned assembly center, the Municipal Auditorium.
Join the active volunteer corps of Portland'5 Centers for the Arts. Our volunteers are members of the Portland metro community and share the desire to increase access to the performing arts. The Portland'5 Volunteer Program is filled with people who share their life and business experiences, fluency in other languages and their love of live performances.
The Portland'5 venues provide an architecturally stunning backdrop for performance. Below is a brief overview of our event planning resources. For more information, explore the more specific pages listed in the tabs to the right (scroll down on mobile devices), or reach out to our team. The first step in holding your event at a Portland'5 venue is to fill out and return to us the rental application.

Wow, beautiful venue. I saw a concert here, the sound was also very good, even at the top. Really worth going to enjoy the place, let alone the show.

Poorly run that they are requiring minors to have negative covid tests to enter the building. So to attend an event you have to spend over $100 per eight year old. Sad way to get back to the arts...can't afford to go!

I saw a Beatles vs Stones cover band shoe here and I loved it. The Stones side wasn't the best singing wise and they did have some technical issues but still enjoyable. The building is very pretty and isn't too hard to navigate. I do recommend taking the stairs if you can

Beautiful theater not a lot of leg room so if your tall get an end seat or very front row for your long legs front row is fine you do not have to look up like if you were in a movie theater which was nice bathroom was clean ran out of paper towels a few times for the day but staff was prompt at fixing the issue staff was friendly and helpful both inside and out weekend parking was better than friday parking

We had a wonderful time and they even set up a little game for the little kids before the show. We had great seats and an even better priced ticket!! After the show we stayed and did a meet and great with the cast of the show for free!! They signed our things then we enjoy the free street band on the corner. We really had an amazing time and we will be back for a whole new adventure

Went on a school field trip here and the place is enormous. I didn't know this existed here and it's a gorgeous place. We were assigned to the 3rd level balcony and it was really great seats. You can see the faces and their expressions of the performers.
I would visit again, and my son and his class had an amazing time. The staff was friendly, kind, and patient with all the schools visiting at the same time.
Thank you for a great experience!

Beautiful place with the older feel. Comfortable green velvet chairs. Good views all around. ***Note if you are taking kids here, the workers are elderly so make sure to really clean up after watching a play. The staff is so nice and friendly! Just be respectful of the gorgeous place to keep it long lasting. So more generations can come.

Sometimes you need a dose of culture in your day to day life...and these performances from Portland Opera are simply amazing, or whatever event is taking place there. Just go and embrace the event.
