American Niagara, initially American Custom Chemicals, was founded by the Barocas Family in 1971. Father, Sam Barocas (1904-1975) funded his sons and their partner, Don Plunkett. Their goals were simply to put together a true chemical manufacturing facility. All three had chemical sales backgrounds.
