In everything we do, our patients come first. We believe that every person suffering from spine problems deserves the highest quality, least invasive, and most evidence-based spine care, and the opportunity to return rapidly to a life without pain or limitations. We have built a team of nurses, doctors, pain and peri-operative specialists that deliver the highest quality of spine care in the least invasive and most effective manner.

We treat our patients like family, and that is why we often treat many members of the same family. Our core values are compassion, virtue, attention to detail, knowledge, and innovation. Dr. Ehsan Saadat is a Board-certified, Harvard and Emory-trained orthopaedic spine surgeon. He is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Services
With advances in technology and approaches, modern spinal surgery is nothing like the way things were done 10 or 15 years ago. Advanced techniques and technologies have enabled us to perform complex operations with smaller incisions, less muscle dissection, and shorter operative times, with faster recovery and quicker return to activities.
An anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) involves removing a damaged disc to relieve spinal cord or nerve root compression and alleviate corresponding pain, arm weakness, numbness, and tingling. The surgery is performed through a small incision in the front of the neck. The disc is removed from between two vertebral bones, and any disc herniations or bone spurs that cause spinal cord or nerve root compression are removed as well.
We accept most major insurance plans, including Medicare. If we do not participate with your insurance and your plan allows out-of-network benefits, our office staff may be able to help you receive reimbursement directly from your insurance company. Please call the office to speak with one of our knowledgeable staff members about your individual coverage.

Prior reviews to dr. Saadat were helpful to me and I would like to contribute with my own reviews. I had a bad case of central stenosis with progressive symptoms of leg pain and limited mobility for past two years. I tried all possible non-surgical options with no resolution to my leg pain and limited mobility. I eventually decided to do the surgery with Dr Saadat based on reviews and after an appointment with him where he explained my case and the surgery option and what to expect from it.
Dr. Saadat did the surgery which is bilateral Laminotomy for my L4-L5 4 weeks ago. I am feeling great and

Dr. Saadat was a Godsend!!! My wife has suffered from very significant nerve pain caused by spinal compression – level 8-9 pain every day. He performed a serious double fusion XLIF which was done in two stages over ten days at Cedars Sinai. She is now pain free as she continues to convalesce. He is by far the best doctor my wife of 67 years has ever had!
Dr Saadat took great care and ample time during our first consultation. He took time to explain everything and answer all questions. He was very articulate and clear, and patient with us. His bedside manner during and after the hospital stay

My Mom went from crying with leg pain the night before of her back surgery (decompression of few lumber vertebrae) 4 weeks ago to no pain. Just like what Dr Saadat explained after he did his fact finding. We were totally skeptical to do the surgery. He promised that he would not perform the surgery unless he feels comfortable about the outcome. He was patient with us and showed a great amount of compassion.

I've suffered from spinal disease for the past 6 years while living in London and had 9 surgeries. One of the surgeries caused hematoma so I had to have two surgeries on the same day! And I suspect that I've had other surgical failures.

I regret very much that I didn't learn about Dr.Saadat earlier; if I had been treated by him early on, I believe that I would have walked better and suffered less.

Doctor Saadat performed 2 spinal fusions on me a month ago. I feel that it was the best and cleanest surgery I ever had! Mind you I had several consultations before with other renowned

Didn't really listen to my concerns and made his own opinion based on what he thought only. I had another doctor review my case and Saadat was totally wrong. Had I listened to him, my injury would have gotten much worse. But I didn't. I got the help and the surgery I needed and I avoided a grave medical situation. He is arrogant and opinionated and he met with me for 6 minutes before arriving at his assessment.

It has been 33 days since my spinal surgery by Dr. Saadat and I am pleased to share my experience here.
I have a 82-year old body that has suffered spinal stenosis for the last 20+ years and have gone through years of physical therapies and non-surgery treatments. Walking 100 steps was becoming painful for me.
Finally, with the proper consult and spinal surgery by Dr. Saadat, I am now living a new life without pain. 5 days after the surgery, I was able to walk 5,000 steps a day, and after 10 days to now, 10,000 steps, or 3-4 miles per day.
Dr. Saadat is highly professional and yet also very

Hands down the best doctor I have ever worked with. I broke my back in a sports-related injury in Eastern Europe and was having a very difficult time getting an American doctor to take my case while I was still abroad. Dr Sadat and his staff were very prompt in taking me and providing the necessary referral that I needed to be medevac'd home. He was the doctor I saw when I made it back to Los Angeles and provided excellent care and insight into my recovery which gave me in turn peace of mind, also essential in my recovery.
Treatments, appointments, insurance, etc. were all handled very professionally

Dr Saadat was extremely informative and helped me make the right decision, presenting me with other options besides surgery. At our first appointment, he wasn’t pressuring me to get surgery and gave me alternative options which I appreciated like injections.
After trying one round of injections, I decided it’s best for me to go ahead with the disk replacement surgery (L5, S1). The surgery was quick and easy. Dr Saadat said my disk was the perfect candidate and came right out.
It only took a few weeks to feel truly back to normal without back pain. 8 weeks out and I’m easung back into being

I found Dr. Saadat after 2 lumbar surgeries in 2 weeks that went bad last year. I also developed a massive MRSA infection.
Once Dr Saadat stepped into the picture I was able breathe easier and he coordinated all subsequent tests, and was scheduled for surgery with him 5 months later. The best of the best!
Being a health care provider myself had nothing to do with the level of care and expertise he gave me. They simply were and are off the charts!!
Imagine going for an MRI and on your way home you get a phone call from your Dr. (Saadat). I told him I just had my scan and he said “I know,”

Excellent, thoughtful surgeon. Dr Saadat was the third surgeon I consulted for crippling arm pain and weakness and he was the only one of the three to insist on a second MRI since the first one was blurry. On that second scan he saw a bone spur that the other two surgeons missed and was able to suggest a less invasive, more conservative surgery, fusing only one level instead of 3. The surgery was a success and throughout the process and recovery Dr Saadat has been available and an excellent communicator. Recommended.

After failing physical therapy, getting an epidural that lasted maybe 3 days, and ditching my initial chosen surgeon who I just didn't vibe with, I hopped on Google and found Dr Saadat in Los Angeles.

Not only did Dr. Saadat's credentials look great when I researched him, but I could tell right away in person Dr. Saadat was compassionate, qualified and very professional. I felt like I was in the best of hands. I left my first appointment elated. I felt like he listened to me. And that was huge. He is top notch.

I was having excruciating, burning pain down my right leg that prevented me from walking. Following an MRI, Dr. Ehsan Saadat correctly mapped my pain up to my L3-L4 disc. He patiently helped me understand and showed me how a bulging herniated disc was putting pressure on the nerve root exiting my spinal cord on the right side, and told me he was confident that surgery to remove the "huge" bulge would relieve my pain. However, he reviewed all options with me to the proposed Microdiscectomy, and I decided to first try a spinal injection to reduce the inflammation and pressure on the nerve

I discovered Dr Saadat by the suggestion of a coworker. I could not have been more pleased. He is highly skilled at speaking to people and keeping his patients informed every step of the way. I felt comfortable from the first appointment all the way through post surgical appointments. I've not felt this comfortable and in such great hands by any Dr.... ever. This is the second surgery I've had, first being elsewhere. I'm the future I know I'll be trusting Dr Saadat for everything spine related.

I have had neck pain for almost 9 years. I have tried chiropractic care, massage therapy, trigger point injections, and physical therapy. Nothing helped for longer than a month or two. Dr. Saadat was able to diagnose the problem, which is related to a compressed disc causing nerve pain in my neck, shoulder, and arm. He recommended I start with a steroid injection for both diagnostic and therapeutic reasons, and now I am mostly pain free! He recommended physical therapy to address some muscular issues in the area. If and when the injection wears off, we will discuss surgery. What stands out is that

I cannot thank Dr Saadat enough for giving me my life back. After an unsuccessful prior L-5/S-1 Discectomy/Laminectomy with another surgeon I was referred to Dr Saadat. I was living in pain every second of every minute of every hour of every day and was unable to do simple tasks like cutting my lawn. 7 months after my surgery I am able to do pretty much anything I want/need to do. Dr Saadat is honestly the best doctor I have ever encountered and I cannot thank him enough.

Omgoodness! Dr. Saadat!
I cannot say thank you enough! You are by far, the best doctor I've ever encountered!

Just a quick recap. Dr. Saadat performed my first lower back surgery in April, 2020. It was a spinal decompression for L6. It was super successful, relieving my excruciating sciatic pain. Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of my story. Seven months later, I started having pain in L4 & L5. Not wasting a moment, I called his office and could barely wait for my appointment date. Because of my insurance, I urged the doctor to do my second surgery, as soon as possible. Once

I went to him with a back pain for over a year of pain and after he checked everything he decided it was the right choice to do surgery for me. I did visit many other doctors as well but with Dr.Saadat I felt good and relaxed and trusted his professionalism.
He has a great personality and I would recommend him to anyone suffering with back pain. Thank you again doctor

I went from being a very healthy person in the best physical condition of my life, working out two hours a day and practicing advanced yoga, when I herniated a disc at L5-S1. I tried medication, physical therapy, ice, heat and an epidural to alleviate the pain. Nothing worked, and the pain became so intolerable that I went from being extremely active to completely bedridden. As an R.N. myself, I researched spine surgeons, got recommendations, and interviewed three doctors. I scheduled a microdiscetomy surgery with Dr. Saadat who was the unquestionably the clear choice. True to his reputation

Dr. Saadat through his expertise, knowledge and advice has made me feel so much better. I have a bulging disc in my back and when i first found Dr. Saadat my pain level was at a 10 or more. I had been suffering in pain for months prior. After his recommendations my pain is about a 3/4 and tolerable now. I don't think i have ever had a doctor that explains so clearly what was wrong and how to treat it. Usually your told less than more with doctors (my experience). But with Dr Saadat I learned more about my injury than ever before and understood what i had to do to feel better. Im so happy i

Dr. Saadat is not only a highly skilled surgeon but also a wonderful human being. I can not sing high enough praises about this doctor! He has a humanistic approach to patient care and truly cares about his patients. He is thoughtful and very detailed in his examination and recommendations. He is incredibly knowledgeable but also humble, serious but also with a good sense of humor. I always felt that he had my best interest at heart. I have referred several friends to him and they all share the same sentiments. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Saadat is the best spinal doctor I have ever had, and I have had many over the past 65 years. He listens to me, we discuss the complicating variables in my situation (Post Polio Thoracic Scoliosis, not one of the most common back issues). I am greatly appreciative of his knowledge and his willingness to collaborate with other medical professionals. I feel very lucky that he is at Los Angeles Orthopedic Institute, or I would never have had the opportunity to work with him. Dr. Saadat, I thank you daily for your extremely professional openness and willingness to look for answers.

What a lifesaver! I had been having neck issues and was getting to the point that I needed to do something about it. Dr. Saadat came highly recommended and I was nervous about having someone do surgery that I couldn't trust. I flew down to see him multiple times prior and eventually he did the surgery! All my symptoms are gone and I couldn't be happier that I found him! Highly recommend!

Dr Saadat was an incredible surgeon and the whole experience with him was fantastic. He is very hands on and stayed involved after the surgery. My wife had a lumbar laminectomy and a lumbar discectomy due to a major rupture in her L4,L5 disc and Dr Saadat has removed all the sciatic nerve pain with these procedures. I can't recommend him enough!
