There were several discrepancies from lighting, plumbing issues,dirty dishes, the big blinds didn't work in the second bedroom which took away from the view of the wonderful ocean that we came to see, no coffee pot like it said. Some of the staff were short and rude. I have to say that the maintenance guy was very accommodating and helpful. The beds were extremely wonderful, it was a short walk down to the beach and the furniture was good. There was a laundry room, a very awesome pool and a game room. However we were not told that the gates were not locked when we tried to open and we were not

My family and I had the worst possible experience at these condominiums. Jerry, one the the property managers, came up to my 17 year old daughters several times bothering them and asking them questions and making them feel very uncomfortable. He was very disrespectful and were bothered by him the entire 24 hours that we were staying here.

It started off as a nice family vacation , my husband , myself , and my 2 kids (12 and 16) were absolutely thrilled to arrive at the resort ! The pictures the description everything looked perfect. As soon as we walked in to our room there were 2 dead roaches on the floor .. along with the toilet in my husband and I's room was not operating . Flash forward my 16 year old daughter and I went for a late night swim at the pool , then some manager guy and his little side kick , (i believe his name was Jerry) asked how we were doing , and after literally just was standing , staring, and watching

If I could give 0 stars I would. I brought my daughter and her 3 friends to this resort as an airbnb and we had myself, my 2 kids, one is 9 the other is 4 years old. And my daughter who's 17 and her 3 friends who are also 17. They were taking a shower at the showers at the beachhead property and 2 men from management came up to them and asked them if they had wristbands and they said that they were staying here (not to mention that the wristbands were only needed by the pool area idk why he was so persistent that they needed it at the shower) and that we only got 2 wristbands. I'm going with a solid 4 stars on this rating for Beachhead Condos solely based upon location and overall amenities for the pricepoint. If you care about easy beach access, a nice freshwater pool, reserved covered parking, and peace & quiet during your stay, Beachhead may be just right for you. If quirky old properties make you squeamish, keep looking for a newer hotel or other new construction short-term rental.
Note that we stayed in Unit 106 and rented via VRBO; your experience may vary. Our 3rd floor unit had 2 bedrooms with queen-sized beds, 2 full baths en suite, a large balcony

Our 20+ member family has come here many times over the years but unfortunately this trip will be the last.
Our balcony was closed for use but the people above us could use theirs. I will give credit they offered a 10% discount after we brought it to their attention that one of the main reasons we stay there is because of the balcony and the view. The closure of the balcony, while known to the management company, was not mentioned on the website when we booked but rather well afterwards.
The groundskeepers during the daytime were absolutely unfriendly to everyone. Especially the guy in the red

We have been annual visitors of Beachhead and have stayed in the same condo for several years. We love the condo and the owner so much that we keep coming back. Frank, the previous manager, was friendly and amazing. This year, new management is there. We noticed new systems of coded gates and wrist bands to provide proof of occupancy. All of this is fine and understandably makes the condos more secure. The second evening of our stay, we encountered Adrian, the new manager. This was my first time staying at this resort I had a very, very, very, bad experience there. Rented the room for three days on the first night I encounter Bed bugs. My Daughter was alseep SHE woke up to telling me she was getting bit. I checked the bed saw blood not knowing what it was. Me thinking it can not be dirty since they have people cleaning and their suppose to maintain the rooms. As I keep checking the bed I see a small red insect or bug, it was very small I moved it and I smashed it blood came out. So I keep checking the bed around and pick it up, Then BOOM I SEE A BED BUG I CALLED

I loved the condos so much I ended up buying one and now live there. Love the 2 bedroom 2 full bathrooms and parking beneath your condo. The game room is awesome. Everyone that stays here loves it. Only place on the island to see the beach from the big heated swimming pool, as well as the condo.💕

This was my first time staying in Port Aransas and my wife liked the look of BeachHead Condominiums. We rented unit 503 which was as close to the ocean as you could get at BeachHead. We had a very clean comfortable 2 room/2 bath ocean view 2nd story (1st story is for parking) condo. The view from the living room, kitchen and master bedroom was awesome. The 2nd bedroom faced the inside of the condo cluster. Whoever decorated 503BH did a good job. This condo was set up for 5 people. Enough towels, wash rags, soap, bedding, living room seating, balcony seating and dining room table seating for 5.

I have to applaud the owners for bringing their property back on line after Harvey ( 9 months) many parts of the property as a whole were a little ragged... but what do you expect after the +10 hours of CAT 4 wind and an 8 foot storm surge. The board walk was intact, the rinse station was a go, the a/c was working . But overall a typical beach accommodation experience, the only thing that gave us pause was the excessive emails from management and the open parking policy which many of the fellow renters did not either read about and or understand. Sad to read the negative reviews ... suppose the aged property is not keeping up with the times but yet the rental fee is too high, unless we round up several people to help pay the cost. I used to go to this place every year during the 90s and it was only about $80 a night plus a cleaning fee. Hope they either drop the cost or fix up all the rooms so they are all equal in value. Hate roaches and smelly rooms ...

I would give these 3.5 stars if I could. I'm actually tempted to rate higher, simply because I was on the beach and enjoyed my stay immensely - hello, beach. It was great to be able to just walk down the wooden platform and be right on the water. And the views were great. But there is a huge discrepancy between how nice the condos are, despite the fact that they are all the same price. The other members of our party had a lovely condo - wood laminate, granite-esque counters, just an overall updated, nicely decorated space. My condo, on the other hand, did not look like it had been updated

Just stayed two nights. We were pleasantly surprised with all the amenities. It also had free wifi. The boardwalk to the beach was easily accessible. The place was clean and since we stayed over New Years, it was quiet. Check in was easy but port a escapes did not provide directions to condo. Siri was able to find the place. The call back for directions took an hour and by then the kids had jumped in all the beds a queen in one room and a full and twin in the other bedroom. It's the reason for 4 stars. I will come back.

Stayed in 105 and we were somewhat disappointed. There was a mothball odor and the carpets had several stains throughout the place. Also it was listed as having a king bed which was just two twins shoved together with king sheets over them. It had wifi, but it was so slow we had to switch back to 4g to read facebook! Badly in need of updating as well, furnishings were old and very cheap. We would not recommned this place.

We stayed for the first time in these condos and we really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in 203 , the condo seemed newly renovated and decorated super cute! The kids room had 2 twin beds each with a trundle , a TV and it's own full size bathroom with a great tub. Our room had a queen bed and a full size bathroom with a good size shower. Our room had a nice view out to the balcony and onto the gulf. The kitchen was equipped with dishes and utensils for cooking. We really liked that they had trash pick up service. We enjoyed being closed to the pool and the beach wasn't too long of a walk

I should have checked the reviews better before signing up and I notice that i am unable to post a review on the Port A escapes site we booked from. The reviews there are very misleading.
We grew up coming to the BH every summer growing up 70's 80's so feeling nostalgic my bff of 30+ years and I booked room 306.
After an initial lecture from the office manager about not having our paperwork and going to the correct office to check in, we did get checked in and then returned to our room with hot pink doors and bags of trash out front. After calling, they came back later and got them

Found this place by doing a search for vacation rentals in Port A but chose it based on positive reviews. We loved this place. It was comfortable and roomy and perfect for our family. We stayed in 503 and were very happy with the 2bed/2bath. Only issue we had was we had to block an exit door with a dresser in the 2nd bedroom to make sure our 3 year old didn't escape at night. Felt like home for the 3 days we were there. Loved that our room was right next to the boardwalk and the covered parking for each unit was nice. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit the coast.
