Had a 1970s watch that I wanted the band extended- when I picked it up the workmanship was not as I would expect from a fine jewelry store. The clasp was put back on upside down and I expected it to be cleaned, most jewelers do a courtesy.

Charged $18.50 plus tax to replace one spring pin in watch band. Only paid $10.70 including tax to replace the battery in a watch at a different jewelry store. Prices TOO HIGH for his services.

I've been visiting Hammer Jewelers on the Collierville Square since I was a little girl. It's such a beautiful store with so many gorgeous pieces. If Mike is in the store, ask him about the store's history! This place should be a museum.

Need a gift for someone that you love? This is the perfect place to go. I've even been nudging my boyfriend of seven years to come here when he is ready to pop the question. I know that I can trust Mike and his son to point him in the right direction.

I have had several pieces of jewelry repaired here and a watch band link added to my son's watch over the years. Today, I stopped in to have a diamond bracelet repaired and a appraisal done. They noticed my ring and took a look at it and there was a diamond loose in the setting. Even helped me get the ring off my finger with windex. They are very helpful and very friendly. They have beautiful jewelry available in their store as well. I wouldn't trust leaving my valuable jewelry with a chain store. Very happy they are so accessible on the square!

My family has used Hammer Jewelers for years and know Mike Hammer is a superb jeweler and an honest man. He has repaired jewelry, replaced batteries, sized rings, ordered pieces for us, engraved, and generally been our go-to person for all jewelry needs. I highly recommend him and his store. Hometown, family owned store that offers beautiful products and excellent service. I think you can't get much better than that.

Brought in a watch to have the metal bracelet buffed out. Went over the watch and was given a price of $49. I left the watch and was told it would take a few days. When I pick it up it was not buffed out. I was told this was for a cleaning, not to "refurbish" the bracelet. If that was the case the "cleaning" was really, really bad too.

This place is a total rip off. Steer clear or hold on to your wallet.

After posting this review I did receive a call from the owner who wanted to provide a refund or store credit. Good attempt to make things right. I declined the offer

Simple fix - replace a watch battery
apparently used an old battery and it died after a month
i replaced it after a moth for $7 (i paid $20 at hammer jeweler)
i wouldn't trust them with anything else if they can't replace that properly!

My husband bought a very exquisite brown pearl necklace for me. It is beyond words. I think it was the very best Christmas present I have ever received. The sales girls placed it in a velvet and pleather box. It was so beautiful. I was moved to tears. But as a frugalista, I wanted to know if he overpaid. I compared his price to a google search and OMG--- he got a GREAT PRICE! ! !
I love this string of pearls. The sales girls were polite, easy-going and very helpful. I'm sure we'll be back to buy another little goody this year.
