Colorado River Winery
On the banks of the Colorado River in the Lost Pines of Texas sits the town of Bastrop. The historic district of Downtown Bastrop offers a selection of restaurants, shops, hotels and is the home to the Colorado River Winery. The Colorado River Winery offers a tasting room in the Tuscan style where you can relax, taste, sip, swirl and purchase wines produced by Colorado River Winery or shop for unique wine related items for yourself or as gifts for your friends.

The winery keeps things fresh and fun with new introductions of different types of both red and white wines, made in small batches, that are only available while they last while keeping a group of wines in stock that can be purchased at any time. You might even want to join the Wine Club and get some "extras" that are only available to Wine Club members.
Services
Crisp and refreshing, this wine is an ideal choice for warm weather, and especially to take on picnics. It pairs well with light dishes such as chicken and seafood, but the acid helps to balance rich sauces and slightly spicy foods. Crisp and refreshing white wine with notable acidity offering a wide range of flavors from herbal taste sensations to veggie, and mineral tones to a citrus and tropical flavor.
Members must present a membership card at the Tasting Room to receive any member discounts. You must have a valid credit card on file with Colorado River Winery for all automatic payments/shipments. Colorado River Winery may cancel your membership without notice for non-payment of charges or invalid credit information.

Although it was air conditioned and a cute little place, the man serving us was not very attentive. He said upon our entering as he was talking to someone else that at wineries they decide how they are going to serve you when you enter a winery. He definitely told off on himself. As others came in he was talkative with them and we unfortunately purchased several other items., but still no good service. Will not return, we will go to other places when we visit Bastrop.

Great little winery with a tasting room. Friendly service. Who has heard of a white chocolate hazelnut wine? They've got one and it is good.

Stopped in to try a tasting..... FOUND MY NEW FAVORITE WINE (OF LIFE)!!!! I now stop in regularly for a class and conversation with the owners! Brad has a passion second to none, very knowledgeable and generous with his wines! They even have a wine club with exclusive events!! A must stop when you're in Bastrop!

The place has a nice, relaxing environment and has a good location in the walkable downtown. The service was excellent, and he gave insightful recommendations for samples. The wines are quite good and have really great flavors. The dessert wines are particularly good with great flavors.

Great winery. They make a great chardonnay with some granny smith apple - kind of a desert wine though I'm not an expert, and a tempranillo I have yet to try, however tempranillos are hard to find in general, so the fact that they have it is great and I will update this review when I try it. You can try a sample of any wine before you buy it. They gave me a couple of free simple corkscrews after mentioning that I was in my travel trailer camper and didn't have any.
They also have tables and seem to serve whole glasses of wine if you're just looking for a good drink, however I didn't check or ask

Locally run and locally made. The wines are made on site, bottled on site, and sold/consumed on site. There are both sweet and dry wines in white to red. Reasonable tasting fee. Buy two bottles and the fee is waved. Short walk from Main Street or access from the back parking lot via their patio. Come enjoy a tasting or even better a glass.

We really loved our Monday visit to Colorado River Winery. We enjoyed a tasting with the owner and were very impressed with the Cab.
Whatever you are looking for in a winery you will find it here in the quaint old town of Bastrop.

I usually stop by here a few times a month for a glass of wine. They have a nice selection of dry or sweet red and whites available. The winery also has a few seasonal dessert wines available year around too. Colorado River winery is located in an older buidling in downtown Bastrop and it has a nice laid-back vibe inside. It's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

Great Local Downtown Winery. They make all the wines in house. Highly recommended!
