In defining who we are - what we're all about - we say that we straddle traditional and conventional wine. We acknowledge the traditional expectations of wine service but choose to rewrite the norms to better serve our community, aiming to make our wine accessible to as many Austinites as we can. You don't need a Hill Country, pastoral vineyard and stuffy tasting room with an in-house sommelier to have a good wine experience.
We're in the middle of South Austin, in a warehouse district. No vines nearby. Everyone that serves is involved in winemaking, if not one of our three winemakers themselves. And we make and price our wines with every customer in mind. No matter your experience level, whether you're a wine novice or a life-long lover, you'll get the same passionate service from our team.

GROW: We create partnerships with small, family-owned vineyards across the country by contracting fruit from their vineyards. We only work with vineyards with a holistic view of farming: non-exploitative, sustainable, and regenerative practices that benefits the entire ecosystem - not just the vines.
Just as we carefully craft each wine, each of our wine labels thoughtfully represents the wine itself. Starting with appropriate anatomical accuracy, our friend, Nic Mathis, transforms each study with his unique perspective influenced by synesthesia. Think "The Wind and the Willows". Memory and physical space are driving forces in Nic Mathis's work.
Work Horse is our OG Texas wine, going back to 2014. Spiced dark fruit and plum flavors lead you into heavy body, velvety tannin, and leather, graphite, and mesquite finishing. Malvasia Bianca and Albarino are friends with benefits, like the crocodile and the Egyptian plover (the bird that cleans the croc's teeth).
Texas High Plains - 2020 NEW VINTAGE 95% Cinsaut (Castano Prado), 5% Montepulciano (Canted County) Red apple, red currant, red clay - balsamic cherry. I'd give this place 5 stars for the interior and overall vibe, but only 3 stars because we were a bit disappointed with the wine itself.
The atmosphere is lively with board games and great decor inside, and a food truck and lots of picnic tables outside for large groups.
However, my group ordered 2 different red wines and 1 sparkling white wine and felt that the wines were lacking in flavor and very watery. Maybe this is how Austin wine is, but if you're looking for deeper, richer flavored wine, I would go somewhere else.

As an amateur wine enthusiast, I’d been fan-girling over this place for a while. It did not disappoint! I LOVE that the people behind this winery “live” their craft. You can tell there is intention here, starting with the 100% Texas grapes and accented by the graphic design elements on their marketing and merch. If you appreciate a pure wine experience (i.e. no pretense or bachelorette parties), this could be your spot. Thank you, Austin Winery team!

Wow! Stumbled into this amazing place and was greeted by Nico and Kat who were so well informed about wine. After a great visit about the history of Austin Winery, a couple of tastings I ordered a glass of Cabernet and enjoyed the comfy atmosphere and read a book. I'm looking forward to coming back and doing a tasting and having a slice of pizza 🍕 from Li'l Nonna's food truck parked right outside.

Pretty laid back spot. A nice spot to grab a quick glass of wine with a friend or 2. For a locally ran winery, I'd say it's worth going for sure. The menu selection for cheese variations are subpar. We did try some octopus and squid, which was an interesting discussion over some glasses of wine. You can only imagine how these convos went lol! All in all, I highly recommend stopping in for an interesting glass or two. Cheers to more wine!

It's simple, if you're not pretentious and you like natural wine, you'll enjoy this place. Industrial spot located in the Yard, great natural lighting and some benches outside for the big groups. A truly gorgeous selection with some fantastic small plates as well- tinned seafood, quality cheeses and bread, etc. Always an enjoyable time.

This wine I could drink all the time. It is truly amazing and I love that all the grapes are from Texas. The tasting room is great, very stylish and welcoming. We were served by Ross, who I realized later was one of the founders! Very nice guy, super helpful and charismatic. Absolutely, LOVE this spot and the wine. I will recommend it to all of my friends and family.
We got the wine tasting and charcuterie board. Complimented each other well.
So glad I can get the wines in Houston! Keep up the great work y’all! Can’t wait to come back.

Loved our visit to The Austin Winery. The place ambience is just great. Right now you don’t need a reservation to go in. They will walk you tru the tasting options. We had a cheese plate to pair the tastings. If you want you can order a pizza from the food truck that is right outside and they will let you bring the food over. All of it was awesome. The wines are great. Some have very unique taste. So we got some to drink home 😎

My partner and I first found their wine at Travis Heights Wine & Spirits and fell in love w the malbec, so we decided to visit the winery. The first time we came here, they had a private event going on so that was sad. The second time, we got here a few hours early so they hadn't opened - that's our fault. Finally, our third attempt was fruitful!
The service here is super chill and on top of things. We 2 flights so we got to taste a good variety of samples. Great pours. We ended up leaving w one of their best bottles and now we're saving it for a special occasion.

Ok so I accompanied my boyfriend to the brewery and distillery nearby, so of course we had to stop for the obligatory glass of wine for me.
I was not going to get any snacks, but their cheese and charcuterie board was calling my name.
We both got the tasting. Each of us got different wines. Our favs were the Tempranillo, Grenache and spaghetti western. You can get all your wines at once or one at a time. I suggest getting them all at once because staff can get busy.
The cheese and charcuterie board paired well with our wines and it was definitely the perfect snack. Loved the cheese selection

Went to Austin for a short solo trip and what a nice surprise. This place was so cool and chill. The service was great, the tables were well spread out, the flight and snacks did not disappoint.
I had the:
Friends with Benefits
Opening Ceremony
Gerwuz
Vermentino
All a selection of whites and sweets.
I would highly recommend this place to get a taste of Austin and also enjoy a quiet spot.

I stopped here to enjoy some new wine and some pizza from Lil Nonna's. I made reservations on the way there. During the 'rona, it is recommended to ensure you can get a spot.
My hubby and I did a wine flight a piece. We tried all the reds, the rose, and white wine (Vermentino). We ended up buying a bottle of Malbec to take home which we both had enjoyed. Note, the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful.
I really like the atmosphere of the winery as it is inside a warehouse where they make their own wine and buy their grapes. The winery has a few things to eat or you can buy pizza

This place has a great vibe and both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Lil' Nonna's pizza truck is right outside of the door and has fantastic pizza - try the VBR! The bummer is they only have Texas wines and I am not a fan. I tried 5 different options and truly am not a fan. I would love if they had other options.

Emphatically giving 5 stars here. Delicious wines in one of the coolest spaces I've ever been to in Austin. Very thoughtful staff, very knowledgeable and took the time to ask questions about my preferences to be able to make suggestions I was most likely to enjoy. I have already made a few reservations to return with friends. Highly recommend! Also I want to be able to give a shout out to the staff member who helped me...I feel like his name was Taylor? Hopefully that is correct!

Star service and a non-judgmental space. I dig you, Austin Winery!
We decided on Austin Winery after we had plans to go to Spokesman next door for some beers. Unfortunately, Spokesman had an event going on that looked a little noisy and full for our study date, hence the change in venues. The winery was very spacious and lofty--I love that in an industrial winery! We asked if we could move a table (to plug in to their only one outlet--score!) and do some computer work with their wifi. The gal at the tasting room was fantastically wonderful. She gave us a large smile and told us to do whatever
