At Barrett Podiatry, we offer podiatric services for all types of foot and ankle conditions. Dr. Michael Barrett, DPM, is a practicing podiatrist in San Antonio, TX. He is board certified with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in foot and rear-foot and ankle reconstruction. Dr. Barrett is committed to providing compassionate, advanced foot and ankle medical and surgical care to his patients.
Dr. Heidi Holets was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, and attended podiatry school at OCPM in Cleveland, OH. She completed a 4-year level 1 trauma residency in New York City with emphasis on forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle surgery in addition to wound and diabetic care. Dr. Holets has been practicing in the Austin area for over four years.

Our San Antonio podiatry clinic is located near US 1604 and Stone Oak Parkway in the North Central Baptist Hospital campus. The office is equipped with state of the art diagnostic equipment.
In order to serve more patients' needs, we also provide care through managed care plans including HMOs (health maintenance organizations) and PPOs (preferred provider organizations) with the appropriate referral. Normally, we receive HMO referrals through patients' primary care physicians. Self referrals are generally permitted for PPO participants.

Dr. Michael Barrett is a highly skilled professional who excels in his work, from accurate diagnostic to surgical precision. He takes time to ensure that every issue is identified and handled correctly and expeditiously. Initially he told me the recovery period for my bunion surgery would be six weeks. My foot was healed in four. I had surgery done on my other foot by another podiatrist and after four months, it was still swollen and my toe was raised and bent. He said I needed a compression sleeve for the swelling. After one week's use, the swelling was gone. Then he performed a procedure

I went to a podiatrist because of an ingrown toenail and nail discoloration on both my big toenails. The nail technician was super friendly but I wasn't sure why she cut my toenails so short (causing some pain and major sensitivity for several days after). Most of the discoloration is gone but the pain from the ingrown toenails seems to come and go (not sure what's going on there). All in all, I'm happy my toenails look better.

I was very impressed with Dr Holets. Every patient wants to hear from their doctor " We will cure your problem" Well that is what I heard from her and she is making it happen. I have Plantar Faciatis and its painful. The first visit she treated it with a steroid that took away the constant pain. Second visit a protein injection that will cure the problem. I am one happy patient.

Highly discourage anyone from using this office. My husband had surgery on both Achilles. And he’s in more discomfort and pain now then before either surgery. Holets came across kind and confident that she could help. After both surgeries were complete and she realized she couldn’t help she referred him to her partner Barrett. All his treatments and recommendations were different from hers and nothing seem to work. Barret also isn’t very professional. After several months off from work and loss of income and so much out of pocket medical expenses my husband is back working through his foot

Where do I start? I came in for a consult. My whole life I’ve suffered through horrible ingrown toenails that have gotten worse over the years. Today I came in with yet another, after finally making the appointment to deal with them. Dr. Holets was amazing. She explained the best treatment option and talked me through the entire process. I’m very squeamish around needles, and get nauseous during procedures where I’ve received lidocaine. Her bed side manner was top notch, distracting me from what she was doing and helping me to stay calm without even being aware of what I was feeling. I cannot

Dr Barrett is an awesome doctor. His staff is awesome as well. I had an appointment that I was actually a week early, totally my fault and they were able to put me in to see the doctor. I appreciate his knowledge and care. If you need a good podiatrist call his office and get your foot in the door (no pun intended). You won’t be disappointed with him or his staff. Just great people!!

I had an injured toe and infection set in the nail bed. Dr. Barrett's staff were able to get me in the next morning.
Staff was very pleasant and efficient to deal with. Dr. Barrett has great bedside manners and was thorough with his diagnosis and procedure to remove the nail. I didn't feel a thing. Several hours post-op the numbing agent has worn off but still have only very slight discomfort which is to be expected. The toe actually feels better already this soon after the procedure than it did when I walked into the Dr.'s office.

Love this place easy to find I came in for my appointment they were ready. I don't know why anybody would give them less than five trying to find somebody good to work on your feet it's hard to do. Then you need to trust them with your feet which is your way of getting around. Please give positive reviews if you want the doctor to stay it's all us to keep him here

I have seen Dr. Holets for my Plantar Fasciitis pain. I was referred to her from the VA system. So far I have been able to minimize my pain after the protein shots administered by Dr. Holets. Due to my condition I think I'll continue to see her a few more times this year. I am always greeted and my appoinments are always on time. The staff is friendly. I do not have anything negative to say about this practice.

I did end up having surgery. Dr. Barrett has worked with me since 2016 for more noninvasive approaches. The surgery had to be done. Dr. Barrett was phenomenal! He understands my fear of needles and surgery and I'm hopeful all will be fixed. I highly recommend Dr. Barrett!!!!

I have Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. Beginning in 2019 my feet had become extremely painful. I truly appreciate that in an online search Dr. Barrett's practice specializes in painful feet.
In my 2 visits he has not only offered a treatment for now but actual solutions for ongoing care.
I had never visited a podiatrist. I am so glad after a 2 day internet research session I chose him.
