A preventive program is a cooperative effort by the patient, dentist, and dental staff to preserve the natural dentition and supporting structures by preventing the onset, progress, and recurrence of dental diseases and conditions. Preventing dental disease starts at home with good oral hygiene and a balanced diet.
Digital radiography (digital x-ray) is the latest technology used to take dental x-rays. This technique uses an electronic sensor (instead of x-ray film) to captures and store the digital image on a computer. Digital x-rays also reduce radiation 80-90% compared to the already low exposure of traditional dental x-rays.
A sealant is a thin, plastic coating applied to the chewing surface of molars, premolars, and any deep grooves (called pits and fissures) of teeth. More than 75% of dental decay begins in these deep grooves. Teeth with these conditions are difficult to clean and are therefore very susceptible to decay.

We have been incredibly pleased with the level of care we've received at Gentle Touch. Dr. Nguyen is thoughtful and kind. She is confident in her knowledge, fully explaining all procedures or suggestions. I feel as if she has my best interest in mind.
We've had the most interactions with Emily, as my children are going through the Healthy Start program through Gentle Touch. I cannot say enough positive things about Emily! I started going here in 2003 until I got different insurance. I went to another dentist for about 14 yrs. I hated it. Once I was able to go back to Dr. Nguyen I didn't hesitate. My dental hygienist is great as well. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. Dr. Nguyen is very knowledgeable and honestly cares about her patients.

Everyone from Dr. Nguyen down to the reception desk staff we friendly, welcoming, and took the time to answer any and all questions. I have a ridiculously sensitive gag reflex, and the staff were patient, non-judgemental and engaged in creative problem solving to secure the needed x-rays without any distress on my part. When the appointment was over, they took the time to explain, in detail, my treatmeny plan and the estimated costs associated with each steps based on my insurance. I very highly recommend this practice for anyone looking for a dentist.
