If you have an advanced orthopedic condition, ranging from a bone or soft tissue tumor to a complex degenerative joint disorder to extensive skeletal trauma to a severe orthopedic complication, an experienced surgical team with training and expertise in advanced musculoskeletal reconstruction can make all the difference.

Because of the relative rarity of these conditions, there are a limited number of surgeons like Dr. Allison in the country. Dr. Allison is amazing. In 2013, he helped me get through an infected hip implant - WITHOUT HAVING TO DE-IMPLANT. Other doctors said it wasn't possible, but Dr. Allison got the job done. I am now 8 years infection-free.
Dr. Allison also did a hip reconstruction on my other hip in 2018. Despite my anatomy being very complicated, it was one of the smoothest hip surgeries I've ever had. Both hips are now healthy and strong.
It may be hyperbole to say an orthopedic surgeon "saved my life." But - saved my quality of life? Absolutely!
His staff and facilities are wonderful as well. I can't recommend

Dr Allison performed bilateral hip replacement on me a year and a half ago. I feel amazing, I'm surfing and preparing for my upcoming 10K run! The scars are very small, and my range of motion is better than ever before. No pain whatsoever.

I still can't believe how lucky my mother is to be seen and operated by the best orthopedic doctor!!! She was admitted at another hospital where they told her that they can't do the surgery ( out of their scoop) and Dr. Allison was the only doctor to accept her even though the insurance that my mother has isn't in network with the facility that Dr. Allison is affiliated with. And just this makes him a true compassionate human being, what e real doctor should be! I cannot thank him enough!! God bless his heart and his hands!!! My mother is walking again!!!

What can I say about this super doctor, unbelievably knowledgeable, experienced, confident in his work. I come from a very reputable hospital (UCLA) 5 years under the care of a doctor with 2 surgeries, one worst than the other to a point that I could not walk anymore. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Dr. Allison, and now 5 months after my surgery I am 100%, I can walk with no pain!!!! That is amazing, since I lived with excruciating pain for more than 5 years. I appreciate the work he did, there are no words to express my gratitude for his care and compassion. I do not think there would

Dr. Allison has been a good doctor with caring for my knee. However, after five years his office personnel mishandled some correspondence and Dr. Allison, upon his learning of mishap immediately interceded and corrected issue. This does not surprise me as he has always shown professional care and interest in my orthopedic needs. I still stand by him as an excellent care giver in his specialized field.
Bless him

If I could give him 1,000,000 stars, I would. Dr Allison did my husbands surgery in July. This is after two unsuccessful surgeries at UCLA and many years of excruciating pain. He is walking without a cane now, and he is recovering beautifully. Words cannot express our gratitude to Dr. Allison, he has been professional, and extremely competent. He is the very best, both professionally and as a human being. Very nice and very compassionate towards his patients.
THANK YOU Dr. Allison, you are a lifesaver!

I am a 78 year old woman and have had rheumatoid arthritis for 63 years, and have severe osteoporosis. A year ago my hip became very painful with bone-on-bone friction, so I began my search for a hip surgeon.
After meeting with Dr. Allison, I felt confident in asking him to do my surgery. I am so grateful to him for accepting the number of challenges that I brought to him. Almost a year later now, I am so grateful to Dr. Allison for giving me a new hip and a much better quality of life. If I need any orthopedic surgeries in the future, I will just go straight to Dr. Allison. I also want to

Dr Allison is the best! He has helped me for the last 5 years and I'm so grateful to have him and to be his patient. I'm also a physician and greatly look up to him and his skillset - whatever I see him do, I try to do the same myself and copy him as well. I strive to be more like him every day in practice. I would recommend him to anyone and fly regularly from Miami to Los Angeles to see him.

I think you'll notice a trend on this page - folks with significant, complicated Ortho problems that others don't want to deal with. I am no different - having vascular malformations since I was a child (AVM and VM) with subsequent joint damage throughout my left elbow and forearm. Things started to feel different this year so I went to Dr. Allison to get updated opinions. Though we are not pursuing aggressive treatment at this time, he has spent the last 3-4 months helping me navigate numerous specialists, leaving no stone unturned in terms of knowing all my options. I was referred to Dr. Allison by Dr. Thomas Ferro, my knee replacement orthopedist. A cancer had eaten about a third of the thickness of my left femur. No one local wanted to touch it. Dr. Allison went in, scraped out the cancer and installed a rod down the center of the bone. This was to prevent the bone from displacing if it broke.
A couple of months later, I fell and the bone broke.
Unfortunately, the bone did not join as it should have. In March, Dr. Allison went in and cleaned up the break and installed a larger rod. I am gradually regaining full weight bearing on that leg. More physical

I had total hip replacement surgery in February of 2019. My hip was in bad shape after a 40 year old procedure that involved the insertion of screws into the hip joint when I was a child. Two other orthopedic surgeons had recently evaluated me. One of them said the surgery would be too complex and beyond his ability, so he referred me to Doctor Allison. Not only did Dr. Allison prove he was capable, skilled and competent, he also demonstrated how invested he is in patient care. I was shocked at how accessible Dr. Allison made himself. I received personalized care, follow up phone calls and messages

Dr. Allison has been my primary orthopedic surgeon treating me for injuries sustained in a head on collision. My knee suffered tremendous damage and complications of heterotopic bone growth. I believe that there are very few surgeons that could have or would have taken my case due to its complexity, but these are the cases that Dr. Allison was meant for.

Dr. Allison is clearly brilliant and knowledgeable, but his ability to connect and truly take the time to know you as his patient is what sets him apart from his peers. I don't believe that I would've maintained the same outcome if I

Dr. Allison performed surgery on my son in December 2018, I have been taking my son to many other orthopedic surgeon doctors, but no doctor in California would take my son's case because of the complication involved. Dr. Allison took care of my son like his own son. My whole family really appreciates, his kindness and accepting my son's case. I have never seen a doctor like Dr. Allison, He always likes to accept the challenge, Thank you very much for all your help and support.

Having had two knees and a hip done prior to having my second hip done by Dr Allison, I felt I knew how to reserch and get the best doctor I could. There was two great doctors who did my other replacements, and then Dr Allison, who is simply put the best orthopedic oncologist in the state, if not the country. He did an anterior aproach hip replacement, using tools and procedures he invented. I walked out of the hospital 25 hours after surgery! The procedure uses glue for the incision and leaves a minimal scar if any. The Doctor is the best, and does surgery for memorial care here in Orange county

Dr Allison is one of the most amazing doctors I have ever had the chance to know! As well he is a kind, compassionate, good man! His bedside manner is rare. He listens, he responds, he explains, your anxiety goes away & you know it's going to be okay. He is a straight shooter. I asked for the facts straight up. He gave me the good bad & ugly. I love & respect that . He saved my life!! I was out of state, out of $, &with good insurance he still ate allot of costs. Never saw a bill. After multiple surgeries that failed. He found the mystery of what was ailing me & made it

In December of 2015 it was discovered that our 21 year old daughter had a tumor in her leg that was eating away at her knee. Our primary physician immediately referred us to Dr. Allison because she said she wanted us to have the best. How right she was.
Dr. Allison has been a Godsend to us. We faced some scary stuff with the tumor turning out to be cancer. Our daughter would need months of chemotherapy and in the middle of it she would need the tumor removed and a total knee replacement. Dr. Allison was with us every step of the way and I can honestly say that he would be hard to top. His strong

Dr Allison is an amazing Dr and surgeon.
He is actually concerned, compassionate, caring, and incredibly capable.
I had a hip replacement done by another Dr and needed a revision because of the metal on metal implant. I had a reaction that that caused the bone surrounding the implant to erode, de-stabilizing the implant.
I saw three other Drs who wouldn't touch it. I was referred to a colleague of Dr Allison's when he was at USC who in turn consulted with Dr Allison.
I'm so thankful that he was brought in on my case.
He looked over all my X-rays and records and didn't hesitate

Dr. Daniel Allison did an amazing job with my hip replacement. Really can't say enough good things about my experience with this amazing surgeon. Within weeks, I was back to doing everything I was able to do prior to my hip problem. Every nurse and physical therapist at Cedars-Sinai told me he is by far the best Surgeon on staff and they would choose him if they needed surgery for themselves. He is warm, caring, compassionate and passionate about perfecting minimally invasive Anterior Approach Hip Replacement. Very glad I found him!

I agree with the previous review 100%. Doctor Allison is a once- in-a-lifetime find. I have had a rough and tumble life that has landed me into numerous doctors' offices. I've never had such a complete and satisfying experience as I've had with Dr. Allison. Not even close. It's hard to convey the level of expertise and warmth that he provides without experiencing it for yourself.
I was in a terrible hit-and-run motorcycle accident in November of 2012. I shattered my femur, my wrist and sustained a permanent injury to my brachial plexus. I was rushed to Cedars Sinai. It was

Once in a life time you come across a Doctor & it stunts you with how good they are.
You wish that, this is how all doctors should be. Then you come back to reality that, this will never be the case.

Dr Allison is caring / takes him time with each patient / Doesn't rush you to surgery / most importantly he is also great at what he does.

His card has been sitting on my desk to write a review for few months, but I just was not able to put my appreciation in words.

He changed my mom's quality of life.

We went to few other Doctors to get my mom's hip checked & as soon

I don't give top ratings to medical providers casually -- I've never given 5 stars, or anything equivalent, before. But honestly, I've been blown away by how skilled, conscientious, kind, and responsive Dr. Allison has been. He replaced both my left and right knees (separate surgeries) at Cedars Sinai. My procedures have both been very successful (still healing from the right knee surgery now), and I'm getting mobility back. Though there's no possibility of knee replacement without some pain, the recovery has been less brutal than I expected.

Dr Allison performed a meniscus knee surgery together with Dr Gabriel on me 2 weeks ago. I was in cedars for just a few hours and was released home. Since then (apart from the headaches probably resulted from anesthesia ) I had not experienced a minute of pain. I followed the post surgery instructions carefully and have been healing extraordinarily. The whole experience is amazing. He is a very skillful Doctor and very caring. His staff and the orthopedic center are very professional and courteous. A super Doctor !

Dr. Daniel Allison is a great surgeon. He performed a High Tibial Osteotomy on my right knee. He corrected the angle of my knee by 12 degrees. The pain was mich less than I expected.
Dr Allison was very attentive to my requests even when I was demanding a cold therapy machine even though it was not his fault for the delay it was the insurance comoanies fault. Dr. Allison personally made sure I received a cold therapy machine using his personal credit card. My knly complaint is the office is very sliw in getting workers comp requests sent to the workers comp adjuster.
