Wellspring Psychology
We believe that the essential ingredient for successful therapy is the right relationship. The diversity of our clinicians enables us to treat a wide variety of life's challenges. In finding the right therapist for you, we will consider what brought you into therapy, goals for treatment, background, personality, family history, past experience in therapy, medical history, and availability.

Although our expertise overlaps in many areas, each provider specializes in specific areas of mental health treatment. As a group practice of mental health providers, it is our mission to provide you with the highest standard of mental health care. Most of our clinicians are accepting new clients. Please view our clinicians below and feel free to directly contact the therapist of your choice.
Services
Wellspring Psychology is a group psychotherapy practice started by Joshua Maddox, Shaylin Maddox, and Matthew Metzger in 2014. The three practitioners met in 2007 at their first of many internships that would go on to include: hospitals, rehab treatment centers, homeless shelters, community mental health centers, chronic pain clinics, and private practices.
We have a 48 hour cancellation policy for missed appointments and require payment of full fee. We do offer a limited number of sliding scale appointments. Ask your therapist when discussing the fee agreement. We are in network providers for Medicare, Railroad Medicare, and Stanford Health Care Advantage.
I believe therapy is about a greater understanding and acceptance of self and suffering. Therapy is about the courage to be vulnerable and commit to an honest, open relationship with self and others. Through this kind of relationship, I believe the value of authenticity illuminates what makes you uniquely you.
I specialize in psychoanalysis and the treatment of unresolved trauma, spanning from early childhood to adulthood, from acute traumatic events to chronic and pervasive maltreatment and abuse.

I understand that in the field of psychological trauma, no one goes untouched and there are none whom have gone through life without pain so significant that it changes the course of their life - from subtle shifts to extreme redirections, from our everyday choices to our basic core beliefs and underlying worldview.Trauma is not inherently bad for this reason - painful experiences often shape us in powerfully beautiful ways.
Therapy is at its essence about relationships. It is about the relationship we forge together in the room, as therapist and client, but it is also about gaining more clarity and connection with your relationship to yourself, others and the world around you. First and foremost, I view my role as your therapist to help you connect to, trust and manifest your own inner truth and wisdom.

I started counseling with my fiancé to help build our relationship and create good communication strategies from the start. Sara Olivera has been so patient and helpful! She always comes prepared and is so insightful. You don’t need to be on the brink of trouble to start therapy, in fact it may be worthwhile to start before you need it! Setting up good habits will help strengthen your relationship.
