I recently traveled to the Florida Keys from my home in New York City. It was my first time in the Keys, so hoping to absorb as much of the island chain as possible we stayed at several hotels throughout the vacation. Some of these resorts were more expensive and hyped up than others, but without question our favorite destination was that of the Sea Cove Motel and Marina in Marathon Key.

We love it! The cabin is just a few feet from the water.. There is a porch with a table and chairs if you want to sit outside. The room is really large. We have 2 full size beds, table and chairs, t.v., refrigerator, 2 more chairs. It is nice and clean.. The shower is nice and roomy. It sort of reminds me of Lucille Ball style. It was really easy to rent and the man that checked me in was kind and professional. I feel safe here. Pricing is very reasonable.

I want to start off my saying Jamie at the office is an amazing guy, stayed late for my check in, super chill, someone I would vibe with on the regular . This place is disgusting . I would let my cats stay here . It's been said that it's been around since the 60's but it needs a serious update . Our skin was literally crawling and we were able to book a hotel last minute . If your use to seedy motels have at it . Oh there was something growing out of the bathroom floor ! Do the research folks

We stayed in the room right on the main road. Extremely noisy, street light goes on and off and shines in the room with no curtains and broken blinds. Then get up to take a shower and no hot water. Never ever again ill sleep in my car before I stay here again

The beds are cheap and flimsy. The room we stayed in was not clean. The freezer looked like something had exploded inside and was just left to freeze over. The showers were dingy and moldy looking. There was barely enough room to stand in the bathroom. The beds were almost touching the room was so small. The television was sitting on a table that was against the wall and the bed was pushed up against the table. The deception of possible floating rooms was sad. None of the rooms were floating rooms. The smells were bad and they had little tree air fresheners hanging on the doors.

1. I found a dirty used mask from someone else on the floor.
2. There were old french fries underneath the night stand.
3. There are cracks in the walls and on the floor tiles.
4. There is mold in the shower.
5. There are multi-colored stains all over the comforters, sheets, and pillows.
6. There were no batteries in EITHER TV remotes so we couldn’t watch TV.
7. The only good thing about this place was the sweet older man in the main office.

Important improvements could be made with such small investment! Adding a mirror and an small table matching to little chairs to the room and a towel hanger in the bathroom good be nice and useful. Removing the dust and stains from the walls and baseboards wouldn't take too much effort either... Humble it's perfectly fine but dirty and neglected is not nice at all!

This place is cute. Needs updates however for a cheaper rate than a major hotel chain especially in the Keys...it's great. Had to find a place in our budget and was very tired but very satisfied. Very nice sweet man at the office. Would give five stars but i never give anyonefive stars and i found one baby roach on arrival which we are letting him know about in the morning. Maybe he doesn't know about that? Who knows.

This was the only hotel that we could book last minute. The price was a little much for what you’re getting, but the sweet older man at the office made our experience much better. We liked the idea of supporting his business despite the price. The rooms were clean, and just what we needed after a long night in the Keys.

Uggghhhh you absolutely do not want to stay here. We had such a horrible experience that everytime we drive by now on our way through the keys I cringe. The man at the desk will take your card information and then change your card while you look at a room when you tell him you don't want to stay because it's so nasty he refuses to give your money back. We had a two month runaround and had to show receipts where we immediately went and booked the Sea Dell which was truly a keys hotel but very clean and very nice people. Don't get fooled at the Sea Cove Motel and Marina.

CDC needs to shut this crap hole down. Doesnt even deserve one star!! Most disgusting place I have stayed at and should not be in business. Hair balls in the bathroom, dirty toilet, floors had sand on them, sheets had stains, smelt like mold..etc. had to go buy sheets and use them...horrible place and DO NOT stay there.

Don't do it, look at the pictures. I accidentally booked this horrible place using a booking site and never checked Yelp first. That was my mistake. Look at the photos. It was awful, we went out and had to purchase bedding from a near by department store just to sleep ok, not well just ok. They made it seems so cute with little bungalows. Not at all. Buyer beware when it comes to this place.

Am giving 1 star as there is no option to give zero. Filthy, falling apart and disgusting place. Refused to give refund, instead "upgraded" to a just as bad "bungalow". Sinks backed up in both, the shower wouldnt drain, sheets were dirty in the first room that we went to the local kmart and purchased sheets and pillow cases as we didn't trust the sheets in 2nd room. Wondered why the air conditioner didnt cool room well, because one of the windows was broken and wouldnt close, letting in lizards and bugs. The health dept should close this place down.

I reserved a room but I was not able to stay here, it was too disgusting.
What I didn't like about it:
The DIRTY, STAINED SHEETS.
The ROACHES running all over the beds.
The ROACHES running out of the pillowcases!
Roaches and other bugs all over the place.
The trash and disgusting buildup on the floor around the bed and some sort of liquid spilled all over the floor.
The lack of being able to speak to the manager because the office closed right after I checked in!

I was very pleased with this adorable little hotel, my boyfriend and I stayed at one of the floating boat houses and it was a ton of fun!
It is definitely old and outdated but it is a total gem! It's very basic, almost like a tiny studio apartment on the water: bed, toilet, shower, sink, television, air-conditioning, microwave, refrigerator and lamp! But really, what more could you need? We aren't fancy folk, all we need is a comfortable place to sleep in that is secure and AFFORDABLE!

It's late and I wanted to save the rest of the drive through the keys for the morning. I stopped at the Sea cove resort and marina and the manager Mike Atkins sold me on their floating rooms. I was looking forward to it. I opened the door and all you could smell was mold. I walked through the room to turn a light on and a couple big cockroaches scattered and I walked trough some thick cobwebs. I explained to him that I didn't want to stay at this establishment for the obvious reasons and he refused me a refund. I eventually got a refund after refusing the other room because of all the

One website described this Floating Sea Cove Motel as "disappointing." I would have to describe our recent stay as VERY disappointing! My review is long, and I'm usually fair and reasonable, but there was MUCH to not like about this place.
The manager was cordial and helpful, but the room was nothing short of a disaster. It was cramped, old, and poorly equipped.

Not as advertised. No small private beach. Makes you pay a resort fee even if you don't have a boat. If you do have a boat you pay a fee to use the onsite ramp. The WiFi connection was not stable. Rooms were decorated from the 70s. The buttons on the AC were broke so no adjusting the temp. Neither room had working smoke detectors. No safety chain on door so 4 Y/O daughter could walk out easily. Room was clean and looked to be repainted this year but needs actual repair work. This was $90 not well spent

My stay was an absolute disaster the floating room that's advertised is just that!!! a floating freaking Nasty, cockroach infested, spider infested room!!! The air conditioner was nowhere near being as powerful as it should of been. Unbelievable!!! There seemed to be a congregation of different types of bugs here crawling all over the place. We actually went out and tried to get a different room at a different hotel all together. That's how bad it was!!! My mistake was not checking the reviews before I booked this place. Stay away folks

If you just need a cheap place to lay your head for the night this will do. The walls are so thin we could here the guy next door cough. There wasn't a bath mat for the floor or a hand towel. The remote for the TV had buttons that didn't work like the volume buttons as well as the channel up and down.

Stayed in the boat cabins. Motel rooms are much better and cheaper than this.
1. Old rusty furniture which looks like it was picked from roadside and doesn't make you feel welcome
2. No hot water in the shower. We went in the chilly week in Nov/Dec, and it was horrible taking shower with ice cold water.
3. No sockets to plug in the phone charger or anything.
4. Two of us stayed for 2 nights, and they gave 1 towel between us. Not 1 towel per day, a total of 1 towel.
5. No housekeeping if you are staying more than 1 night.
6. Because all the equipment is old, no air conditioning or heating
