Every visit to Tahoe is truly a treat. My family is excited to have found this hidden gem in North Lake. We had a fabulous stay. Our room had a full kitchen with everything we needed. Even extra pillows and blankets.

We recently stayed here as Grand Pacific Exchange members. We stayed in a two bedroom condo and one bedroom condo on the north side of the North Lake Blvd. Although we did not have a lake view, we absolutely loved our accommodations. We stayed here for a week in December during a large storm event. Both units had been renovated. The two bedroom unit was very spacious with a large kitchen. And two bathrooms! The one bedroom had more of a old Tahoe cabin feel, with wood paneling but updated features in the kitchen. We loved the front decks as well. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Eh...the location couldn't be better. And that's about it. The room, supposedly for 4 people, is comically small. 2 people were a very tight fit. You can fit a water bottle in the fridge if you lay it down. The bed was awful. That was no queen bed by any standards that I'm aware of. 2 of us were close to falling out of bed all night. Plus, it was so soft that there was a total lack of support. I was willing to overlook all of that on account of the proximity to the lake until they charged a non disclosed extra BS fee per night when we checked out. Thanks, but no thanks. We won't be going back.

The only reason the resort deserves one star is the beach and view. The resort itself is a dump. We were never notified that the pools are closed due to construction and grass all torn up with caution signs as well as half the units shut down. Should be completely shut down or condemned. We couldn't use the kitchen sink without the floor flooding. Paid big money in air etc and booked a year out to stay in a dump. I can't believe we were never told in advance since these issues occurred many months before we arrived.

DO NOT BOOK HERE - CANCELED OUR RESERVATION LAST MINUTE AND THEY ARE S-H-A-D-Y

Back on March 4 I booked two nights at Tahoe Sands for June 29-July 1. A few days before our arrival date (June 24), I see an email that our room has suddenly been canceled "due to a gas pipe repair" and a phone number I can call for more details.

So I did. But what I got was the run-around, and blatant lies.
The first thing they told me was "yes, we have to repair a gas line, so we've had to cancel all reservations."
To this I replied "So if I show up on June 29, nobody will be there

I don't even want to give this place any stars. I booked our room in April and we drove up mid May. It took us about 4 hours to get to the resort. I go to the office to check in and was told my room had been cancelled. They said I should have received a phone call,I did not. I feel this was poor handling of the situation. I understand that things happen you cannot prevent but as a planner I would of loved to had that phone call. I tried to talk to the lady at the desk to see what my options were and she was very rude and continued to cut me off. I would not recommend this place.

Booked two nights at Tahoe Sands Resort for a weekend of snow sports. It was about 25 minutes from Squaw Valley | Alpine Meadows, which was a good distance for us. Everything we needed was provided including plenty of cooking utensils, coffee and tea, and fresh towels. Bring your own oil and spices. We had a corner room with an amazing view! I'm docking a star because the bathroom was in an awkward spot, right next to the front door where you're supposed to leave your shoes and gear.

On Feb 6th, I checked in and that night, I was bitten like mad by skin parasites. I could not stay there and had to leave 2/7 9a.m. I am still fighting these parasites! I went to my doctor and got a prescription and doing everything they tell me to do. But still they are present! It has been an exhausting nightmare. Tahoe Sands Resort did not offer any other place for me to go or any help in resolving this horrible infestation. They also charged me the 4 full nights even though they said there w/b NO Charge from Peter who texted me on my phone. I look forward to normalcy again. I do not recommend

Booked here for Labor Day weekend. It's was so amazing view from our balcony, so close to the lake unbelievable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean. There's a Safeway supermarket just up the road. Hubby and I are so happy to unwind and relax our holiday weekend getaway.

I have to agree with the high raters of this place that the view and location can't be beat. It is lakefront-ish (depending on your hotel room). The front desk was very helpful and friendly. They provided some suggestions for food and what to do (we were there during the 4th of July) if we wanted to see fireworks. We were able to see fireworks from the beach, so that was pretty cool.

With that said and everything, let's talk about the REALLY unacceptable items with this place. We were given a 'free trip' by going to a presentation, and I guess that's how they keep giving

The rooms are just OK, but the service is remarkably horrible.

We arrived after a very long drive, to a dirty room that smelled halfway in between musty old sock and curry.

In fact if I didn't know better I would've thought that the last guest prepared musty old sock curry every day of their stay. There was a spot in the bathroom on the counter that I do not want to even contemplate what it was. And there was chips pieces and salsa drops on the table. (I love a snack when I arrive at a hotel but just not left over food from the last person)
In addition the wall heater cover was broken

We love Tahoe Sands Resort these days! Have been owners since 1986 and have seen the ups and down of this property. There are some deplorable reviews, which I have agreed with ... so take note. Stay in a remodeled room or don't stay at all because your review will be the same. BUT alas, lots of remodeling is happening and the management team and staff are as Friendly and Helpful as we remember of "the good 'ol days" here! Now everyone has a bad day, but honestly I DO believe the staff is getting better and better with customer service so I am going to be grateful it's moving

We spent 3 nights at Tahoe Sands last week and had a good time. This was our first time there. Groupon offered really good deals for a studio or a one bedroom unit, and we took the one bedroom. At first, I thought we were staying in the hotel style room with kitchenette right next to the beach but we got to stay in a nicer cabin across the street.

The cabin is roomy and clean. The kitchenette is recently remodeled, include new appliances, and stocked with cooking pots and serving utensils for 4. The floor is dark wood-like material instead of carpet throughout. The bathroom does have a tub

We are owners and haven't been able to reserve our timeshare after repeated voicemails and emails over a 4 month period. Not sure what we are going to do but it is incredibly frustrating that we can't reach a single person or get a response from voicemails and emails.

The owner newsletter encourages owners to write Yelp reviews, so here you go Tahoe Sands! If this is how you treat your timeshare owners, how are you going to treat customers?
