Services
Family Services Funeral Parlor was opened in 2002 after Victor Woods, Jr. decided he could offer his hometown community much better service at a much better price than the existing "big corporation" owned funeral home. He and his mother, Kay Woods Judd, started the business together and for several years were the only full-time employees.
The viewing room, chapel, pine chapel, and other rooms are here so that you can plan the exact service that suits your departed loved one, you, and your family. Each viewing room and our chapel is equipped with a projector or TV and DVD player. We can make a DVD of up to 50 family pictures and play it during visitation or the service free of charge.
A community gathering, visitation and personalized tribute that occurs prior to cremation. A community gathering following cremation. A meaningful program invites family and friends to visit and reflect on the moments they shared with your loved one. A small gathering and informal identification takes place in a private setting and allows the opportunity to say goodbye prior to cremation.
Togetherness is the glue that binds loving families together, even through the toughest times. And when your family is faced with the loss of a loved one, let Acres West Funeral Chapel & Crematory help you strengthen that bond. We are family owned, and we understand what you're going through. It's never easy to lose a loved one.
Acres West Funeral Chapel & Crematory can hold a funeral to honor a departed veteran. Please also visit our Military Papers page. Please note: most veterans benefits and honors require a copy of the veteran's Discharge Papers (DD-214) showing "honorable" discharge. If the discharge is "other than honorable" or is "dishonorable, " the government does not consider them as a veteran and they are not able to claim any benefits.

Acres West Funeral Chapel made planning and carrying out my mother's funeral arrangements and service so much more pleasant than I ever imagined. The planning was as easy as anyone could have expected and Christie, and the entire staff explained everything and answered each and every question and concern my family might have had. They even, personally picked up and transported a casket that I had ordered for my mama online, from my home to the funeral home. That was a big deal! I cannot say enough positive things about our family's experience with these loving and compassionate people! Thank you

I’m very disappointed in Acres west funeral home. I had my grandmother there and the staff is very unorganized they almost over charged me for flowers. I was told flowers weren’t added to the contract which they were and I had to pay the flower shop separately. If it weren’t for my wife checking the itemized copy we would have paid twice for them. What I really did NOT appreciate is them having my mom after loosing her mom sweep and mop the place like if she was a employee there. Lady there would take my mom the broom and mop before closing and ask to clean before we left.

Christie and all of the staff took amazing care of our family. They went above and beyond to ensure we were loved and taken care of. As terrible as a loss is, they make it bearable and do whatever necessary to support you in your difficult time. We couldn't have made it without Christie and her compassion and kindness.
