Simba Dojo offers training in traditional Shotokan Karate and meditation. Karate helps to promote a healthy lifestyle by providing fun physical activity and mental training. It is a great way to keep your mind sharp and your body active! Our classes are family oriented with no age restrictions, both young and mature are welcome!
Our classes are held at The Center on Main within the Verrado Community in Buckeye, Arizona. The past few months practicing at Simba Dojo have been fun and challenging. I am learning and growing in the beginnings of what I see as a long and worthwhile journey in bringing body and mind in the traditions, old and new, of the martial art.

Services
The mission of Simba Dojo is focused on enriching families and promoting healthy living through the practice of meditation and the martial arts. We are a family-oriented dojo and work with youth and adults of all ages! Shotokan Karate is the primary discipline of our practice and we follow the guidelines set by the Japan Karate Association.
We practice traditional Shotokan Karate Do. What this means is that we follow the teachings of Gichin Funakoshi, also known as the father of karate, and Budo the way of the warrior. The focus is on becoming better human beings rather than excelling in competitions or becoming the ultimate MMA fighter.
Reservations: We have implemented a new reservation system on our website to facilitate this process. It will also allow us to see if we will have students showing up at any given class. You will be able to reserve your spot in all classes up to a week in advance. Individuals who have placed a reservation will have preference over walk-ins.
Simba Dojo requires no uniform for the beginning student as it is an extra expense while you are evaluating the class. A gi will be required, however, before you test for your first kyu or belt. The gi symbolizes the karate spirit and is your first essential equipment you will want to purchase. A gi gives the student practitioner a sense of pride and sets the stage for serious practice.
Here at Simba Dojo, we practice and teach Shotokan Karate. Shotokan is probably the most widely taught and politically involved family of karate systems. There are several associations of karate that maintain standards for ranking. We follow the curriculum as outlined by The Japan Karate Association.
