Stayed here for a week, and the experience was absolutely incredible.
Location: you are a 7 minute walk to the beach and downtown. Paia as a spot is a great unwind town. Hippy vibes.
Owner: Dave greeted me when I arrived and we even sat down and just talked about life for a bit. He gave me his number in case anything came up, and he even recommended a friend of his as a surf instructor who was cheaper than what you’d find online. Super chill dude. Very hospitable.
Compound: the compound has absolutely incredible vibes. The photos don’t do the serenity of the grounds justice. There’s a

I truly could not recommend this hidden gem more! Dave, our host, was gracious, lovely, and helpful! The grounds are STUNNING with a constant cross wind that makes all of the communal spaces heaven. There is an opportunity to meet your neighbors/fellow travelers and swap stories/recommendations which adds to the “community quality” of the stay. The rooms are well stocked and well cared for and provide a wonderful retreat after a day of fun. The location is perfection...easy walking distance to all that Paia has to offer. Finally, the communal dogs and cat (Tazi!) truly made our stay that much

Paia is my favorite place on the island but there aren’t a lot of great options for places to stay. I couldn’t be happier with my stay at Mangolani. The property is serene, lush with landscape, thoughtful and conducive to meeting the other guests (my favorite part!). The rooms are really beautiful and thoughtfully appointed. And the inn is within walking distance of an awesome cafe and Paia town. This place is not to be missed. Thanks Dave for the perfect stay!

Mangolani is an amazing place to stay! Our room and the entire property was super clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated. We loved the outdoor kitchen & other communal spaces. The hot tub was perfect after long days exploring and we really appreciated the beach towels and chairs that were free to use. Thanks for everything, Dave!

Mangolani is a true gem in the equally beautiful town of Paia. Highlights were the idyllic common spaces (think outdoor kitchen and dining space, hot tub, fruit trees, and hammocks), walkability to all that Paia has to offer, and wonderfully appointed rooms. Perfect for a working vacation (as I did), beach getaway, or home base for all sorts of activities on the island. Mahalo Dave for your hospitality, and see you next time!

A true oasis. We stayed for a week and loved it. The rooms are immaculate, perfectly provisioned, and done with style. The gardens around each room encourage you to take time outdoors in Hawaii (complete with avocado trees, Balinese furniture, and surfboards). And, Paia eats and beaches are just a short walk away.

This place is unbelievably heavenly. The property is a beautiful oasis of palm trees, tropical plants, fountains and art. You really feel like you are in a tranquil paradise like Bali. The location is incredible, walking distance to world class meals like Mamas fish house and more down to earth healthy and delicious spots like Mana and Cafe Des Amis. Everything is at your finger tips like yoga / massage / kite surfing / surfing / snorkeling / hiking etc. This is now our new spot whenever we come to Maui! Thank you for the unforgettable stay! We can't thank you enough, Dave!

Not knowing much about Maui, we booked our 5 day stay in Wailea at the Marriott resort. It's a very nice hotel, but it's just not our speed. On our day trip to the Road to Hana we drove through Pa'ia and stopped for coffee. It's felt so much more our speed so we looked for a room on short notice. Dave answered the phone when we called, and we lucked out... someone had left a little early and he had a room available for our remaining two nights. We packed up and drove to Paia. The room was newly remodeled and very nice with AC. The property itself is very cozy, well maintained

Out of my 20 years of traveling the world, Dave is the worst landlord I have ever encountered. My girlfriend and I spend lots of our money to go visit Maui for 5 days and we pay a high rate to stay at Dave's place. One day before arriving to the Inn, Dave says he will be available thru text or phone prior to arriving. He tells me check in is at 2:00PM. We arrive to his inn at check in and there is nobody to receive us. We wait for approximately 30 min until I send a message to Dave that I'm displeased there is nobody to check us in. He decides to call me and tells me he is cancelling

My stay at the Mangolani Inn was incredibly special... and very healing. Dave and his family are such great humans. They told me about the amazing water system setup in their house, and I was sold. For me, good water access is huge. The system runs throughout the entire grounds! So even the showers were filtered, which was wonderful. The other people that would come through and stay at the inn were really interesting and fun to meet. Adventurous, world traveler types from all over. I ended up staying in the large room, with kitchen. SO nice. If you want to really treat yourself... that

A perfect oasis for your vacation! Owners are super friendly and helpful. The place is beyond amazing. We stayed in the treehouse and loved it! The sheets and towels were super soft. The outdoor kitchen, dining area and shower were super cool. We were definitely sad to leave. The location is less than a 10 minutes walk to restaurants, shops and various stores. We will for sure come back!

Mangolani Inn truly is a special place, with it's own magical vibe and character. You feel it as soon as you enter the property. Super close to the center town of Paia, but far enough away and enclosed in it's own tropical scenery you feel it's a destination on it's own! My wife and I loved that we could walk from the Inn to Paia town and the nearby beaches. Also loved having our favorite food store Mana's down the street to pick up some items and head back to the inn to cook. Even though we stayed in the unit that had our own fully stocked and LARGE kitchen .. we loved

Loved this place so much where planning in coming back again this time with family. It feels like home only in paradise. Dave and family where very welcoming and accommodating. Even the staff around the property where friendly. I felt secure on the property at all times and never gave a second though when being outside at night. Its located in a nice area with beaches, restaurants and shopping just a few minutes up the street by car.

We LOVED this sweet little inn. Only bummer was we couldn't stay longer. Perfect location in Paia and inn was beautiful and serene. We stayed in the treehouse room which was a great space for myself, my husband and 5 year old. Very family friendly. Dave is a great host. Wish we had found this place earlier so we could have stayed longer.

A number if circumstances led me to The Mangolani Inn and I couldn't be more pleased with my decision! Paia is the perfect little town if you want to avoid the "resorty" tourist vide. And the Inn is just a short walk to all the restaurants and shops, and a few more steps to the beach! You can even see the ocean from their tree house which is the space I am going to stay next! So obviously I would stay there again and again... And again! Also, it's a gated property so I felt safe to leave my car door unlocked and even my bedroom door open the whole time.

Hands down the BEST experience I've had renting a vacation home. Dave takes great care of the house, and everything's clean and very well equipped (including laundry, beach chairs/towels/umbrellas, and more things you don't have to pack). The entire place gives off a warm and inviting atmosphere, and guests are made to feel like friends of the family, like true houseguests. It never feels empty - music is playing outside or people are laughing, and Dave is always around tinkering with the house (which just shows how much he cares).
I recommend this to anyone wishing to stay in Maui

This place is great! We booked the entire inn for our wedding week to house all our of wedding party and couldn't be happier. The house gave us a private space to celebrate with our friends for the week and provided ample space for every couple to sleep. It's clean, accommodating, and has everything you might need (kitchen supplies, a washer/dryer, surf boards, even pets on the property). The only note - there is no air conditioning in the studios or the bedrooms - just the main living space. Not usually a big deal, but this August was a bit warm.

Hey, this is unfortunate. We lost our room when you double-booked Dave. It's as simple as that. That deserves a negative review (readers: see Nina's comment a few days ago below). Your booker assured us we were reserved (See below). I'm sure you're a nice guy often. But there are business processes that should be improved: (1) If you as the owner are booking when you are out of the country and not having great computer connection, you should be more careful allowing your booker to 'confirm' reservations. (2) If a deposit is necessary to consider a room reservation

We booked our whole trip around staying for the week at the Mangolani Inn after calling and making reservations there yesterday. They called us back today to tell us that the room was already booked. Super disappointing and very unprofessional. We were excited about spending a week there and then we had to scramble to make new arrangements to stay somewhere else within the timeframe of our airline ticket. Very luckily, we found 1 place available, but of course for more money... Good luck with your reservations there...
