Writing was my first career; however, a diabetes diagnosis in my family became the catalyst for directing my second career to the field of nutrition. Before, when I heard "diabetes", I was filled with fear. Food became a source of anxiety.
I did my research, began learning what I could, met with specialists, and attended support groups with loved ones, but I was still missing a key component: an individualized, personal approach to a sustainable health plan.Learning about diabetes and its close link to nutrition became paramount for me, so I returned to school for an advanced degree in Nutrition.

Services
Teresa is a registered dietitian and nutritionist, and she is an in-network preferred provider with several insurance companies. She recommendations whole foods first, and answers your questions about nutritional supplements. She conducts nutritional counseling sessions in secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth (virtual) video medical appointments.
Just wanted let you know I got the lab report back from the doctors today and I got my A1c down from 13.5 to 7.2 ~ wow! I'm so stoked and am really excited again to keep up on a healthy diet! Thanks again for all your help. The experience begins by quickly realizing Teresa is human, too; extremely compassionate and listens carefully, without judgement.
She can process your appointments as an out-of-network provider if you don't see your insurance company listed above. Most major insurance companies include some type of nutritional counseling benefits. Before your first nutrition counseling appointment with Teresa, call your insurance provider (the 1-800 or toll-free number on the back of your insurance card) to ensure you have nutrition counseling benefits.
Patients meeting in virtual medical appointments save commute time, avoid traffic, and experience less stress surrounding their appointment, yet still have the highest level of care and face-to-face accountability with Teresa. Yes, if you're using medical benefits, you must be in the state of Washington (the state in which I am credentialed through the Department of Health to conduct medical nutrition therapy).
If you are paying out-of-pocket (i.e., at a reduced "time-of-service" cash rate because your insurance benefits do not include nutrition visits or you are not using insurance), your appointment fee will be reduced. Note: Payment is due at the appointment time for each visit type; cash, check, debit, and credit cards accepted.

Teresa is fantastic to work with! She has a thorough understanding of so many medical conditions and how to make people feel better through dietary modifications. I have referred some of my clients to her for more personalized attention into the types of foods they need to eat. Teresa has also been a valuable resource for my team in our line of work as personal chefs. I really appreciate the care she demonstrates in her profession and how passionate she is about health in general. Thank you!
