Unlike a vision screening or other general eye test, comprehensive eye exams evaluate the entire health of the eye. They also help the optometrist or ophthalmologist determine your unique prescription. Comprehensive eye exams should begin as an infant to ensure proper eye and vision development. Ongoing eye health examinations at regular intervals are also important as many eye diseases and vision changes can occur without warning signs.
Eyes are the organs of vision. Through a complex process, they detect and focus light to create images. Vision begins when light rays are reflected off of an object and enters the eye through the cornea and then pupil. It then passes through the crystalline lens which refracts light to be focused on the retina.

My family goes to Wauseon Eye Care and we love it there! We are always extremely happy with our exams and frame selection. The staff is amazing, friendly and helpful. A special shout out to Mel! She is super friendly and welcoming in the phone and when walking in to the office. I’ve experienced unfriendly staff at eye care facilities in the past and it sets the tone for an unpleasant experience. This is not the case at Wauseon Eye Care! We won’t go anywhere else!

I used Dr. John Stehulak for my daughter and myself. We were very pleased. So I used him as a second opinion for my son because the eye doctor I used for my son didn’t explain anything. My son was sick when wearing his glasses. Dr. John Stehulak took time and explained that my son has a condition that requires more than just glasses to correct. We also have a 3 month follow up with Dr. John Stehulak. He is great! The girls who help pick out and order glasses are wonderful too. Great staff all around!

The first time I went there everything was fine, couldn't of been happier. They had done my safety glasses the year before so the following year I had the make my safety, dress, and sunglasses. I was very happy with the glasses, and the service. This year not so pleased. The sunglasses aftere a few hours felt like somebody stuck a needle in my eye. Safety glasses I have to squint to see through, few hours to headache. The dress glasses are out of focus. I went back told them the ussues, I was told that my eyes have to adjust. Even though they told me my prescription hadn't change that much.

Why would I take a photo of my new glasses I just picked up today, and the contacts I've had for a year now and post them? Because there is true Joy in being able to see from every angle in every way. I've always had difficult eyes to fit. I've worn glasses since I was 10; contacts, since I was 16. Over the years I've gone through a string of eye doctors for various reasons (a couple were totally unknowledgeable about contacts; one died; one lost his license; another closed because he was in trouble with the IRS; a couple times I moved out of state), so I have to be honest and say I was a bit skeptical

I’ve been going since I was in fourth grade and they always treated you like family and still do to this day! Sadly this weekend was my last appointment with them since I will be moving away and need to find someone else in my new area! I will be lucky enough to find somewhere that’s half as great as they are! I would highly recommend them to anyone!
