Most people find me because they are in emotional pain, and they are ready for relief. They want their relationships to work. They want to feel better. Psychotherapy works, if you are willing to cross the bridge from where you are now to where you would like to be, gently, one step at a time. Integrative therapy utilizes interventions that address mind, body and spirit.

Rather than looking only at thoughts and experiences in talk therapy, many different modalities are utilized to heal the whole person. Your therapy experience will explore needs in all areas of functioning, body, mind, and spirit. Each client gets a tailored road map that will facilitate an integrated and balanced way of living to last well beyond the sessions spent in the therapy office.
Services
I work with clients who have suffered anxiety and depression, grief, traumatic histories, addiction, painful relationships, and eating disorders. I also work to help people through transitions in college years, career changes, and with couples counseling. My office offers a peaceful place for you to be recognized and heard, to explore your needs and wishes, and to get to the root of the pain or confusion you may be experiencing.
EMDR is an intervention designed to facilitate healing from trauma, anxiety, depression, and many other types of issues. It can shorten the duration and number of therapy sessions a great deal. The trained clinician and your brain do all the work! Eye movements activate certain areas of the brain to release emotion, thoughts, and memories.
What is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD? If you have suffered from distressing events in your life, you have experienced trauma. Have you had an experience where another person has devalued you or put you down over and over again? That can be referred to as trauma. Have you suffered from sexual assault, physical abuse, been a witness to war or near death experiences?
Recovery from all forms of abuse is possible, no matter what you have suffered. Finding the right resources in therapy is important, then utilizing tools such as EMDR (see below) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) to help you establish excellent coping skills when you don't feel so excellent are very helpful.
Anxiety is broadly another word for feeling fear. If you are reading about Anxiety Disorders, you have likely reached a point of affecting your happiness and well being, and maybe your home life or work life. Anxiety can elicit feelings of wanting to flee or to freeze in a situation. It can feel like a weight on your chest or a punch in the stomach.
