In a very short time you can be working as a massage therapist, loving your work, transforming your life and the lives of others. Massage Therapy is one of the fastest growing health care fields in the country. Your opportunities are limitless. We have a Massage Therapist - 500 Hour Program. You can find out more information about our programs under the tab "Massage Therapist Programs" at the top of the page.
No-interest payment plans are available. Our programs are set up so that you have a choice of several different start dates each year. Most of our elective classes require Massage Therapy Fundamentals and/or anatomy as a pre-requisite, so we advise starting with one of those classes (please look at our calendar and course descriptions for more information about our class scheduling).

The massage therapy industry is currently experiencing incredible growth and in a relatively short time you can become a part of the profession. Whether your dream is to work in a medical office, rehabilitation center, chiropractic office, cruise ship, resort or day spa, athletic club or to start your own private practice, the education you receive at MTI will help get you there.
Davis is located 15 miles west of Sacramento and 75 miles east of San Francisco. Davis is a university-oriented city with a vigorous community noted for its small-town style, energy conservation, progressive environmental policies, bicycles, and the quality of its educational institutions. The mild temperate climate means enjoyment of outdoors all year long.
What do I need to be able to work as a Massage Therapist? You need to complete training at an approved school. MTI is approved. You also need a business license in order to work in your city or county. In many cities you need only proof of your Massage Therapy Fundamentals training. However, some cities/counties may have ordinances requiring more hours.
It is important to find the massage therapy school that will best fit your needs. Not all schools and their programs are of equal quality. Your choice may come down to a large corporately-owned school or a smaller individually-owned school.
Bigger schools usually offer Federal Financial aid (900 hr program is required) while small individually owned schools usually require fewer hours to graduate (500 hours is the most you need to be able to obtain a business license to work in any CA city, and in some cities fewer hours are needed).Smaller schools may offer a flexible, modular schedule with payment plans available.

They offer individual classes so you can study the topics you want and complete the program at your own pace. The instructors are working massage therapists and teach their specialties. Individual classes also gives you a chance to meet more students for practice. Some of the students are long time therapists there to learn a specific topic so you also learn from them.

Simply the best school I found. When I decided to pursue bodywork as a post-retirement career, I looked at three schools within driving distance. MTI was the best for me, because it offered a flexible program at a reasonable price (factoring in travel and parking.)
My goal was to have a women's practice focusing on people like me, who'd experienced some type of traumatic injury, or who wanted to stay fit and flexible in our later years. Because I could pick the avenues I wanted to explore like Ortho-Bionomy® and acupressure, I was able to focus my time and energy in directions that would benefit
