Central Florida Health Care was founded in 1972 in response to critical gaps in health care identified by the agricultural community. A local citrus processing firm recognized the importance of adequate health care, social services and childcare for farmworkers in Frostproof, Florida. The first clinic opened with a doctor and a nurse and began serving the farm workers in that community.
Over the next decade, we expanded to Wauchula (Hardee County) in 1975 and Avon Park (Highlands County) in 1980. Further growth came as sites were opened in Dundee, Lakeland, Winter Haven, Lake Wales (Dental) and Mulberry. In 2016, we opened Dundee Pediatrics, Lakeland Pediatrics, Magnolia Women and Children's clinic in Winter Haven and Lake Wales Medical and Dental clinic.

America turned a corner in the 1960s. During the Johnson Administration, the growing public health needs began to be addressed. The office of Economic Opportunity was formed in 1964 with a mandate to eliminate poverty. By the early 1970s, many Americans were falling through the cracks of the healthcare establishment.

Absolutely ridiculous customer service over the phone. I understand we come from different places and sometimes have a hard time understanding each other’s dialect, but when I have to repeat myself 6 times and continue to get huffed and puffed at then hung up on, there is clearly an issue with the customer service on the businesses end. It’s not hard to transfer me to someone who could better assist me.

Horrible customer service. Laughed in my face when I told them what was wrong. Wouldn’t see me as a walk in because when asked if I was in pain I said “not really” (abscessed tooth), said they could see me in 6 months with an appointment. Second time going, second time regretting. They’re in desperate need of a new manager or HR department.

I love my doctor she’s very caring., but the staff who answer the phone are very inconsiderate Victoria said she don’t care about my needs because I’m not the only patient.! I’m just trying to get one paper filled out and it’s been a week the lady last week told me it would be ready Monday and here it is Monday still nothing it’s very aggravating when it just needs to be signed and released

I called the front office to ask if I can come with my mother to her medical appointment and was told that I can ask the lady taking temperatures in the front door and she may say yes after I explain my situation. That is exactly what I tried to do but the lady taking temperature only addressed my mom completely ignoring the fact that I was there and then when I asked if I can go in to talk with the doctor about what my mother has been feeling she rudely nodded her head with a serious face barely allowing me to talk as she continued saying no, led my mother in the office and did not apologize for

This place is a JOKE!! Appt @ 10:15, got called back at 11:45. The lady that came in 30 minutes after us got called back the same time. Now waiting for 30 minutes for the doctor to see us and the smell of their lunch is through the air. They do not care about your time just your money and what your insurance brings. I even stepped outside the room to see if I could find anyone, a lady on the phone knew exactly why I opened the door and said you’ll be next soon. If you can’t manage a schedule maybe you shouldn’t be managing a business.
