Services
Our practice participates with most major insurance carriers in the area. If you have questions about whether one of our physicians is a contracted provider or if your visit will be covered, please contact your insurance company directly at the number listed on your insurance card. It is also the patient's responsibility to obtain all necessary referrals needed to see our physicians.

Chicago native, Frank Koranda, MD, is married to Diane, who shares his commitment to providing surgical care to people in countries who would not otherwise have access to it. Dr. Koranda serves as a medical director of a world outreach program and spends four to six weeks a year serving the program.
Nicholas Maxwell, PA-C joined Midwest Medical Specialists in October of 2018. Nicholas is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Born and raised in Platte City, MO where at a young age, I was given a foundation of the importance of perseverance, determination, and compassion.
Katie Palmietto is a graduate of Missouri State University and a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She began her career as a vestibular audiologist but has discovered a passion for hearing aids and helping her patients develop and refine communication strategies. Dr. Palmietto is a Missouri girl at heart, but recently moved to Kansas and is excited to discover what it has to offer.

Been to numerous dermatologists over the years for recurrent issues I have been having for a number of years. Always given the "run-around" and the same treatments over and over which never helped. Provider Maxwell not only listened to my concerns, but he heard them too and genuinely cared about my issues. I am currently much improved and very happy with results so far. Will recommend!

I went to this office for help with some dermatitis on my face. My appointment was about 3 minutes long each time, and over $100. The PA I saw told me that if it didn't go away after the medication, to call and he'd send in a script for a stronger one. It didn't go away. I called. I called again. I never got a return phone call but I DID get a sales pitch email. I never signed up for marketing emails. So I replied to it letting them know that they should probably return my many phone calls instead of selling to me. Well, look at that, a phone call the very next day. No thanks guys, it's obvious

When I made my appointment with the Dermatologist I advised them that my husband would be with me for my appointment (he has dementia). When we arrived for my appointment......10-15 minutes early, when I started to sign in and give them my insurance information I was told that my husband would have to leave........no exceptions! I was very nervous about my husband trying to find his way downstairs and then just wandering around by himself so I returned to the front desk and informed them that I would not be staying for my appt. I have had an excellent experience at Midwest Medical Specialists with Dr. Jill Spencer and the terrific Aesthetician Alecia Smith. Dr. Spencer has helped me tremendously - and she has such a great bedside manner. Very competent. I had a dermal infusion with the new aesthetician Alecia Smith - and I WILL be back. She did such a thorough job - so much more detailed then the previous aesthetician. I was very pleased. Highly recommend Alecia!

I was referred here by my PCP for dermatology evaluation. I have severe acne and have tried EVERYTHING you can think of. I’ve even seen another dermatologist with no avail. I have been seeing Stacey Schultz for over half a year now and I can’t say enough good things about her! She listens to my concerns. She remembers important, relevant things. She makes me feel heard. She’s the first professional to not only make me feel comfortable but has gotten results! I’d recommend her to anyone.

I have to say from beginning to end my experience with staff and Stacey Schultz have been great. I love her bedside manner. She knows her job and I felt totally comfortable during my procedure. Her attention to detail, expertise in her field and her fun personality definitely went a long way with me. I would recommend her to anyone and could guarantee the same fantastic care. In today's fast-paced and cranky world, I found this to be a very pleasant surprise, so thank you!!
