Over the past 25 years, The Web's staff and Board of Directors have been strong advocates of peer-driven programs that embrace personal empowerment, self-healing, wellness and recovery, which promote self-advocacy and self-sufficiency. The Web strives to empower consumers to have their voices heard at all levels of government, have a voice in the provision of services and to be treated as equal members of the community.
In the early 1990's, the beginnings of the Consumer Web were very humble, with the solitary goal of providing computer access and internet service to mental health consumers in order to communicate with people all over the world, 7 days a week, much like the internet cafes which were emerging.

Stop by the Web and see what we will be doing this month! We attend performances at the PAC, the Alaska Native Heritage Center, spend an afternoon at the Zoo, and go fishing - just to name a few. Join us weekly as we come together learn and practice care and wellness for the whole body. This group meets weekly to support participants in their life journey. Participants engage in self-discovery and discover that "Understanding comes a little at a time over a lifetime." Stress management, nutrition, meditation, exercise, and rest are key elements.
Whether you are ready to return to the workforce or just starting out, Jeri (our Peer Employment Mentor) is available 5 days a week to assist you reach your employment goal. Meaningful employment is defined differently depending on who you may ask, to us it is work with a purpose and that we feel has value.
Far too often, our members find themselves homeless, struggling, and not knowing where to turn for help. The Web's Peer Housing Mentor is available 5 days a week to assist you making that new apartment a reality. Becky has been with the Web over six years and has developed a strong network of property owners, managers and housing providers to assist you.
