Having grown up around strong female role models (mother and grandmother) that are both practicing Architects and Designers even today, has been an important part of this journey. I spent many years after school accompanying my mother on her job sites and studio.
In hindsight, my father's work (pilot) took us all over the world as a child (which I grumbled about at the time), allowed me to recognize and adapt to different perspectives and cultures as needed and often.This often meant a new language or way of life. With all this travel, my indian-ness is still deeply rooted in my being.

It has been a pleasure working with Sashya and her wonderful team at ID8.
Sashya worked with us as we designed the spaces in our new home including selection of stones for fireplaces, light fixtures, bathroom/kitchen fixtures, and tiles and carpets.
She understood our preferences very quickly and proposed ideas that made the home a consistent yet creative execution of our vision. She helped us select wall papers that matched our idea of a modern but classical home, and one that reminded us of our upbringing. She subsequently helped us furnish most of the rooms beautifully, keeping our aesthetics

Our high-rise apartment building partnered with iD8 Design Studio to do a design and renovation of our common area spaces. Not only were the results beautiful, but working with Sashya and her team were a joy. I really felt like we were partners throughout the whole project -- open lines of communication, investment in the quality of outcomes, and help with bidding out to manufacturers and vendors were all seamless. It was a pleasure working with Sashya! As a developer, I've worked with Sashya over the years on two different custom home projects and one spec home ranging in size from 2,300sf to 9,600sf, including ultimately our very own home. For all three projects she employed a unique palette of materials and finishes. On the first project, she was employed by my client/buyer and since we worked well together implementing customization of that home, I engaged her on my next spec home project. We initially hired ID8 to help us trouble shoot an awkward transition area that needed to look integrated and function as a small mudroom. It was definitely a tricky task, and not only did Sashya come up with a really creative solution but a stunning one, as well.
