I ordered a cake from Madeleine’s bakery as a gift for a party that I wasn’t able to attend. Casey spoke to me over the phone and helped me pick out a flavor and icing combo that sounded perfect! She was so helpful and patient with me as I sometimes change my mind 100 times before making a final decision. I decided to go with a “Vermont” theme and the cake turned out beautifully! It was a hit and everyone raved about how delicious and fresh the chocolate cake was! My boyfriend has no choice but the save me a piece and bring it back to NY.. I cannot wait to try it! 3 different sweet treats bought from the store by my house and each one has has an intense chemical taste with a bitter aftertaste. The last two were still 5 days from expiration so it's not that. Maybe the food wrap they use is causing it?? I'm not sure. I just know definitely won't be buying again 😬

Great selection of pastries. We went for breakfast, as we wanted to find fresh-made donuts that weren't from a chain. Madeleine's did not disappoint! We ordered the cinnamon sugar, maple frosted, and red velvet donuts. I wish we had gotten more since they were priced $1.50 each. Such great quality. We will be returning!

In all of the years of my life, eating bagels from dozens of bakeries, I have never had a bagel be as soft as theirs. Whenever I'm in milton, I will always get theirs!
But don't leave with just bagels, try the eclairs, maple cream eclair or your regular, and all of their donuts. My favorite is their Boston cream, yum! But be fast, it all goes quickly.

You've probably heard about the donuts. That's why you're reading this review, right? Because of the magically toothsome-but-tender dough covered in just the right amount of glaze that almost brings tears of joy to your eyes--nothing cloying or bland about these nicely sized donuts! My 14-year-old nephew declared the chocolate-frosted donuts the best he's ever had, and he's really kind of a connoisseur, truth be told.

This place has the best donuts in the Burlington area, hands down. I've tried them all and this place is by far my favorite. Great selection and their pastries rival those of Europe. They also do custom orders and are so friendly and accommodating. I love this place! I wish they had espresso, but they do also have a Keurig for coffee.

Added bonus that every employee we have interacted with has been extremely friendly and kind. Our household's favorites are the crullers, apple fritters, chocolate cake, and maple cream filled!

We ordered two cakes for my friends baby shower this weekend. We selected a basic chocolate and a carrot cake. These were at the request of the mom to be! Wow were we totally surprised at beauty and taste of these cakes! This bakery can compete with the best here in chittenden county. I drove from Burlington and will never consider ordering anywhere else again. It was the best carrot cake I've ever had besides my own . And the mom to be raved about the Chocolate and no one argues with a pregnant woman! Thank you . I can't wait for my birthday to order another cake! The hardest decision

I was craving some baked goods and I like to try/buy local instead of at a chain store. After checking a few things out, we headed over to Madeline's. Everything looked so good I almost bought one of each! I spent the rest of the day eating through my box of goodies. My husband thought I was nuts until he tried one. I had to fight him off the rest with a plastic fork! Seriously, everything was wonderful and I'm really picky when it comes to baked good and pastries!

Milton is typically a straight-shot-through-town kinda experience for me, which, in general, is too bad. Now however, like that one neon sign in the middle of the desert flashing "cold beer here", Milton has a place that brings me in. Madeline's has quite the assortment of cookies, cupcakes, and brownie-like treats. They are definitely oriented towards the cake-side of baked goods, rather than the buttery, pastry-side of things, thus a good choice for that mid-afternoon sugar high to ward off the sleepies. They have drip coffee, and I don't know where to go in Milton for specialty

Don't be turned away by the small size of this bakery! I've gotten an assortment of goodies there before, and have never been unimpressed. The main lady who runs the bakery is very friendly, even if you're not a regular or she's never met you before!
I especially recommend the horse shoe cookies with chocolate on the ends. That's the main reason I go!

Despite the typical sociopolitical indicators, I think the true mark of civilization is the presence of a great bakery. Luckily for residents of Milton, Madeleine is just that.
I wish I could say I've tried everything so I could give a complete assessment of what makes this bakery great, but all I've had is their bread, cookies, cupcakes, and pie. I am pleased to report that they are all delicious. We have purchased assorted cookies to meet the dietary and taste needs of the many, and have found them all delectable. It is located behind a hardware store, so it takes some parking lot

OK let me say at the outset, I am not a donut person. So when one of my students brought me a gift of a donut from Madeline's, my intention was to take a bite,smile and set it aside.However, I took one bite and LOVED it. So I went there for a visit one Saturday. Instead of donuts I bought a chocolate croissant and shared it with my husband. It was plenty big for both of us. I have never bought anything here that I did not like.

When I feel like getting some baked sweets and wanting something more local than Dunkin donuts, I'll come here. Come in early morning when everything is fresh and warm, it's the only time I'll go, if I'm just planning on getting cinnamon rolls.
I know they throw out the day old cinnamon rolls, I'm not sure if they throw out other day old products tho!
Go to Apollo for lunch and come here for dessert, which I've done on multiple occasions, even tho I'm so stuffed its hard to pick out cookies for later!
Also they have samples on occasion, so make sure to check
