My clients seek my services when personal problems or relationship failures and disappointments drain the joy, fun and creativity from otherwise rewarding lives and careers. No one wants to remain stuck or feel sad, depressed or anxious for long. By using a warm, interactive and pragmatic approach, I actively engage with clients to help them gain perspective and insight into patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that no longer work.

With this understanding, clients move forward and make successful life changes. I believe that relief from emotional pain comes from self-awareness, gained in a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years experience working with adults, couples and families.
Services
My professional career began in England in the 1960s and has evolved into a stimulating and rewarding professional practice. After immigrating to the U.S. in the late 60s, I gained valuable experience working as a therapist in the public sector. I later went on to earn a Ph.

D. in Clinical Social Work, which has provided me with an additional level of training, skill and expertise far beyond that which is required for clinical social work licensure.I bring this doctoral education, intensive training, personal therapy and over 30 years of professional and life experience to the practice of psychotherapy.
Many years of experience have taught me that the combination of psychological insight and behavioral change are necessary to make a difference in the two most important areas of life: relationships and work. My style is collaborative, interactive, pragmatic and respectful. I help individuals to increase self-awareness and develop satisfying personal relationships, make healthy decisions and gain a greater sense of control over their lives.
Psychotherapy is effective in treating many problems. Emotional relief is found by deepening a person's understanding of what may be contributing to his or her difficulties and ineffective behaviors. The insight that people gain from this process often improves the quality of all of their relationships and their ability to cope with their own lives.
I provide a brief initial phone consultation at no charge, which may give you a sense of if we would work well together. Some people opt to call several therapists to find someone they feel comfortable talking with. I suggest you to do this to get a better basis of comparison. If you think we're a good fit, I'll encourage you to come in for a face-to-face assessment.
I specialize in working with couples. My approach with couples is fair, kind and flexible. Often couples that come to me for therapy have found themselves locked into a pattern of relating that leads them to repeat the same problems over and over. Without realizing it, we all can bring problematic beliefs, expectations and behavior patterns to our adult relationships.
