The amount and pattern of cloudiness within the lens can vary. If the cloudiness is not near the center of the lens, you may not be aware that a cataract is present. A thorough eye examination by your ophthalmologist can detect the presence and extent of a cataract, as well as any other conditions that may be causing blurred vision or discomfort.
If you have diabetes mellitus, your body does not use and store sugar properly. High blood-sugar levels can damage blood vessels in the retina, the nerve layer at the back of the eye that senses light and helps to send images to the brain. The damage to retinal vessels is referred to as diabetic retinopathy.
Tears are produced by two different methods. One method produces tears at a slow, steady rate and is responsible for normal eye lubrication. The other method produces large quantities of tears in response to the eye irritation or emotions. Tears that lubricate are constantly produced by a healthy eye.
Floaters are actually tiny clumps of gel or cells inside the vitreous, the clear jelly-like fluid that fills the inside of your eye. While these objects look like they are in front of your eye, they are actually floating inside. What you see are the shadows they cast on the retina, the nerve layer at the back of the eye that senses light and allows you to see.

I've been to this practice twice. Tests were run by the a lovely technician, followed by a brief visit by Dr. Jacobs. He complained that I was supposed to have come back within six months of my last appointment. But no one told me that. He said the office sends out postcards.. Postcards? Who doesn't use e-mail these days? He said the office doesn't have the resources to follow up with patients about appointments by phone? What? Dr. Jacobs didn't look me in the eye (excuse the pun) when he came in. He just sat down in front of a monitor to review data.He then did an additional eye exam. I called

I am a physician and was told by my personal Ophthalmologist that I would require surgery to treat my glaucoma. I did my due diligence to find the finest glaucoma specialist in the Midwest and came up with Dr. Michael Savitt.
I proceeded to talk to two very highly regarded Ophthalmologists who agreed that my decision was correct. I recently had my surgery and the team that Dr. Savitt has in place is extremely professional and the experience was better than I could have ever expected.
I am now on the mend and would highly recommend Dr. Savitt to anyone who has a need for glaucoma surgery.
Thank

I called this office to schedule with Dr. Savitt. I decided not to schedule due to the distance and hours of service. So I did not meet the doctor. But someone in the billing (called billing initially to ask an insurance question) department was very courteous, excellent customer service, she really tried to work out a time and location that would be best for us to see the doctor. She went above and beyond by calling other offices requesting an acute appointment, on our behalf, and getting us a referral for another ophthalmology doctor that had the hours, location and same insurance we needed for
