Our group has been in practice over 50 years. Founded in 1958 by Dr. M. Hobson Rice, Eye Physicians & Surgeons, PC is the successor name of Rice, Rowell, McDowell & Fite PC, incorporated in 1979. Dr. Rice was the first ophthalmologist to practice in Dekalb County. Then in 1962, Dr. Roger R. Rowell joined Dr. Rice in practice.
At Eye Physicians and Surgeons, our patients have the ability to pay their bills online by utilizing the Instamed Patient Portal. You are able to sign up for your patient portal account and interact with our staff for a variety of functions - one of these being online bill pay. You can also utilize the Care Credit service in order to finance your bill and make regular payments.
Traveling I-285 East - Exit 39-A (Decatur). This will exit directly on to Hwy 78 (Stone Mountain Freeway). Hwy 78 will merge with Hwy 29 (Lawrenceville Hwy). Continue to drive straight. Not sure if this practice is starting to decline, but I am growing more and more dissatisfied. The service during my eye exam seems impersonable. I repeatedly stated to the practitioners, that glaucoma runs in my family I did not receive clarification upon finishing the glacouma screening, if anything was flagged during that screening or if the eyeball looked overall in good health- Upon calling the office to request a call back to discuss the results of the screening- still waiting for that call back

Went for an eye exam on 11/10 & was told to come back for follow up. What I WASN'T told was that there was a treatment that needed to be done & that my insurance didn't cover the treatment because they weren't networked with my provider.. but they accepted for my eye exam? Self pay was the only option. Horrible communication. And this was AFTER I arrived for my early morning appointment and AFTER I was informed on my way to the appointment that my scheduled doctor was out.

My experience at the eye physician&surgeon,s.c. 675 w. State street in Burlington Wisconsin was super... Dr.nathan R. Mathews.. was the most gracious dr I have meet in a long time.. he was so accommodating to my every question... his mannerisms was so great ... he was very helpful with all my worries... he made my day... thank dr Mathews for being so curtious and making my surgery was nice.. the staff members are so happy and very helpful also. I am a long time patient as well as my mom and we love Dr. Shah. Last week we also experienced exceptional service from Kristmin Lee! She went above and beyond to help provide additional options to serve my mom when she was unable to see the traditional exam to make it possible for my mom to feel comfortable and taken care of. She obviously knows her sight is limited, but seeing how much she has lost every 90 days is frightening and Krismin was a professional angel!

When I called to make the appointment, the lady who answered the phone acted like it was a hassle to assist me. I told them I had Humana vision insurance. When I arrive today, the front desk lady was less than thrilled to even check me in. Not polite at all. Then I find out they only take Humana medical insurance and not the vision. Such a waste of time. It was hard enough getting someone on the phone to make the appointment, then to not even feel welcomed when I arrived, only to find out they dont even take my insurance. Definitely not recommended unless they had new office staff.

I've been a patient of Dr. Bealer's for years. She is an excellent doctor and explains things well. She is also thorough and genuinely cares about her patients. My issue is not at all with her, but with the office billing policy/people. I was charged an extra $100 because I was 11 days over the three-year limit for established patient visits. The pandemic put me way way behind with everything, but Dr. Bealer was the first doctor I saw after I got the vaccine. I think it says something about a practice when they refuse to extend a deadline by a few days, especially to long-term patients. I think

I recently had cataract surgery with Dr. Shah and he did a great job! I did not realize how bad my eyesight was until I had this surgery. The lens he used also corrected my astigmatism so that I can drive and watch TV without eyeglasses. He was very good at explaining the procedure and giving instructions on what you should do before and after the surgery. I also had a good experience at the Surgical Center during my surgeries. The staff was organized and worked like a well-oiled machine. There is a lot of prep work they have to do to you when you come in for surgery, and they made it look easy

My wife had cataract surgery with Dr. Shah. From the initial visit to the final results, this was the ideal practice. All the staff was very nice in the surgery center and in the clinic. We see a lot of doctors for various medical issues, and Dr. Shah is the best of all. He takes the time to explain things and is a great doctor and surgeon. My wife now has perfect vision for far and near without needing glasses. He even went out of his way to speak to my son on the phone and explain everything before scheduling surgery.
