It is hypothesized that Brainspotting accesses the subcortical region of the brain, where trauma is held, to rapidly resolve the issue. Brainspotting was born out of EMDR Therapy mixed with Somatic Experiencing, and it is referred to as a "Brain-body based" therapy.
Teletherapy sessions are very much like in-person sessions. We will meet regularly (usually weekly) for 50 minutes. You can use your computer or even your phone, as long as your internet connection is good. Sessions are held through a confidential platform, and all services provided adhere to established counseling regulations in the State of Colorado.
Getting the therapy ball rolling can be intimidating, but it doesn't have to be! Knowing what to expect can make it easier. In our free 15 minute consultation phone call, I will first ask you some questions to gather basic information about what you might want to work on in therapy, and some of your hopes and expectations around this.
