An independent physician is free to choose the highest quality and most affordable options for patient care. Giant medical corporations charge a lot more for your healthcare than independent physicians do. And the quality is not improved by layers of administrative policy. Independent doctors in Idaho have the freedom to diagnose and treat their patients without the bureaucracy of a hospital coming between your doctor and you.

Gustavel and his Surgical Physician Assistant, Mary Ann Ozier, PA-C will take care of your unique orthopedic needs. Shoulder injuries are often caused by athletic activities that involve repetitive or excessive overhead motions.
Arthroscopy or arthroscopic surgery is a minimally invasive surgical procedure performed by orthopedic surgeons to visualize, examine, diagnose, and treat the problems inside a joint. During the procedure, the surgeon makes a small incision/cut in the skin above the joint and then inserts an arthroscope that has a small camera and light to magnify and illuminate the structures inside the joint.
Referred to as the "hip scope", hip arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure. The orthopedic surgeon will use the arthroscope (a small camera) to examine the inside of the hip joint. This procedure will allow the surgeon to determine the cause of hip pain. The camera will display pictures on a video monitor.
A Bankart Repair is a surgical procedure to repair shoulder instability. The procedure involves reattaching the torn labrum that surrounds the glenoid (socket of the shoulder joint). The humeral head (ball of the shoulder joint) is usually centered in the glenoid, stabilizing the shoulder. If the shoulder suffers dislocation, it may tear the glenoid labrum and ligaments that support its structure.

Dr Gustavel and his staff are very nice, be prepared for long waits for appointments. Ultimately after several shoulder surgeries I wasn't getting better with Dr Gustaval.
Side note please don't seek a second opinion with any doctor that performs surgeries at treasure valley hospita lesson learnedl. They will never question another doctor that is on the board there. Dr spelich (on board treasure valley hospital) was the original doctor that performed my initial surgery (shoulder labrum) and should have done a biceps tendonisis. Dr Gustaval I believe knew this would have improved my situation but

I first saw Dr. Gustavel in 2009. Another doctor had recommended knee surgery, but I went to Dr. Gustavel for second opinion. He suggested I try to strengthen my quads and perform specific daily exercises. It’s now 2021 and again he is recommending no surgery. So if I ever do need surgery, guess where I am going. 😊

Great staff and Gustavel was great to work with. He provided good insight into what was causing my shoulder impingement issues. His recommendations for treatment worked well in resolving the issues and hopefully limiting the potential for it happening again.
I would highly recommend him and his team.

Highly recommended. From door to doctor I felt extremely welcomed and the entire environment was patient centric. Everyone on staff was very kind and Dr. Gustavel was knowledgeable, friendly, and trustworthy. Being in medical school I have gotten to work with many physicians, and a quality of the best ones I have worked with is their honesty to refer you elsewhere when it is necessary. Dr Gustavel did a very thorough exam and suggested I see a different local doctor who specializes in what I needed done. He even went out of the way to call the physician he was referring me to to make sure that
