Our favorite way to make reservations is to talk to you in person 252-441-7320 which is often how we offer our most flexible options. Efficiency or Cottage (weekly minimum in-season except 3-night minimum when within 10 days of the reservation date). Sea Foam Motel in North Carolina gives you the best holidaying experience and an amazing beach view.
Have a pet? We are among the best in pet friendly motels, but You MUST call for one of our designated pet rooms. To get as close as possible to the ocean, choose one of our ocean front rooms. The Upper Oceanfront rooms provide a private rear balcony and large windows offering a magnificent ocean view, while Lower Oceanfront rooms include a separate back-door providing the most convenient access to the beach.
We hope you have time to get out and experience some of the local vibes that is unique to the Outer Banks. This keeps people coming back to visit year after year. This list is hardly comprehensive but represents a good start for anybody ready to venture away from their room. Hardly needs a mention, but it is the main attraction located just behind the motel.

Stayed one week ago. Great view on the beach and one of few hotels to take pets. Saw 2 huge roaches in room. Bed spread looked as if it had not been washed in 10 years. Sheets old and worn out. Many bathroom fixtures broken as was shelving inside refrigerator. Left 2 days early due to pending storm and unable to shake dirty feeling and management unwilling to refund those 2 days. Would only provide credit for future stay which will not be happening. Extremely disappointed that there was no refund for days not staying.

Stayed in the Elizabeth Cottage for 3 nights. Overall it was a very pleasant stay. The mattresses could be replaced as they were a little thin. The couch bed was not usable. The rooms were very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. If you don't mind a retro motel you can't go wrong staying here. Right on the beach and it is a good central point while exploring the Outer Banks.

I can't say we aren't having fun, but the experience overall was..... less than desirable. We were transfered into a room that was not connected to my sister and her husband as well being without a kitchen (despite very specifically talking on the phone with staff before our reservation to make sure we both had a kitchen and were in adjoining rooms with our family). The room we ended up with had no coffee pot or toaster, and no place to store food (although the did give us a little coffee pot when we asked). Also, the warm shower water only works with the sink running cold water on full blast.

The location was good. The room was good. We are used to staying in the older hotels. There were way too many flies caused by the garbage cans sitting all about because guests had to take out their own trash. I appreciate the Covid mess and we would not have wanted anyone coming in our room but something should be done about the cans and flies. No discount for having to do our own chores either. We had 2 emergencies while there. Our dachshund got sick and had to go to the vet hospital. We were not sure if he'd need surgery so we had to book an extra night. I got sick as well. My leg was swelling

We booked a pool side pet friendly room and it was very clean. From the moment we checked in everyone was super friendly. From housekeeping to the front desk everyone was so warm and welcoming. This was our third year to OBX but first time staying at the Sea Foam. You can’t beat the location on the beach and near restaurants. We will def be back.

I’ve stayed at the sea foam many different times over 20 years and it gets better and better. The retro feel is so charming and really makes you focus on what’s important..the beach! The building and location are awesome but the staff is what makes it a really special place. They are so kind genuine and welcoming they really make your trip that much better.

We love staying in this quaint & classic old school OBX style motel! Some rooms are dog friendly, so we appreciate being able to bring our pup with us sometimes to enjoy the beach! Our favorite rooms are upper oceanfront, the lower oceanfront rooms are also nice, you just can’t see the ocean (the dunes are a necessity!!) Either way, you can’t go wrong with the hospitality, wonderful & friendly staff, and the cleanliness of the grounds. Our kids love the pool, and the beach access is just steps away from every room here, so you really can’t go wrong no matter which room you stay in.

Do not stay here . I thought I was lucky getting a room with a reservation. I see why. After the lady at desk being in her personal phone she finally got me checked in. I go into the room assigned. It had never been cleaned at all. Towels in floor , unmade bed. Nasty. Go back lady made me wait 15 additional minutes. Finally said I can give you an update efficiency. Joke joke. No hot water. Refrigerator handle broke. Bugs crawling. No one at desk to let them know of issues. Has nothing to do with being an older establishment. My friend and I made reservations at the Sea Foam for a few days away. Having not stayed here before, I didn’t know what to expect. The motel is older, but we had a really nice stay! It is steps away from the beach, the staff is so kind, and check in/ out was extremely easy. I would recommend the Sea Foam to anyone and am planning to stay here again soon!
