Seth Shipley started in the jewelry industry in 1986 in Alabama after serving in the US Air Force. He bought his first jewelry store in 1987, sold it in 1989 and moved back to Maryland, where he put his jeweler's bench in his parent's basement. Asked by friends and family that he grew up with to make and repair jewelry he found the need to incorporate.

We are new customers at Shipley’s Jewelry yet we feel like we have been there forever. We have had several repairs done there and purchased an item. Shipley's did an awesome job redesigning my wife's ring for our 30th wedding anniversaries. The task I gave them was to remove the diamonds from 3 separate rings and combine them into 1 all new setting with an additional new diamond. They had the newly configured diamond ring available for me to present to my wife on our anniversary date; however, we knew it wasn't yet perfect. Once we returned from our celebration, it was placed back in their care to affix the additional settings and fine tune the aesthetics. Although this took much longer than expected, the final result was worth it. In addition
