Possession of Marijuana is the most common misdemeanor drug offense. The fight to legalize marijuana has not made much progress in Georgia. The Georgia medical-marijuana bill died this year despite votes favoring the move in both houses. Possession of less than one ounce of pot/weed/marijuana etc. is still a crime, and it is one that is aggressively prosecuted.
While Georgia law provides over half a dozen different types of theft, the most common charges include Theft by Taking and Theft by Shoplifting.
Georgia statute defines theft by taking as occurring when a person "unlawfully takes or, being in lawful possession thereof, unlawfully appropriates any property of another with the intention of depriving him of the property, regardless of the manner in which property is taken or appropriated" (Georgia Code 16-8-2).

The most commonly prosecuted felony crimes of violence are Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery, and Aggravated Stalking. We are also now seeing more charges for felony Cruelty to Children in the First and Second Degree. All are considered major felonies and carry a maximum sentence of 20 years. Nevertheless, some conduct criminalized by these statutes can be quite minor, so these offenses are very fact sensitive.

Scott said our case was easily defendable and required patment in full prior to court. He failed to show up for court on several occasions. The judge finally recommended we fire semrau and represent ourselves we did and it was brutal. We have no law experience. Afterwards i reached out to scott for a refund and he NEVER returned my call! Dont waste money on this guy

All I can tell you is I called them to inquire about possibly using their services for a simple expungement. The lady who answered took my info so that a lawyer could return my call when available. Towards the end I asked "ok you think that will be tomorrow?", I'm attempt to get an idea so I didn't miss the call. Lady did a 180 on me and rudely replied "I mean I can't say, they'll call you when he can call you". I did 13 years in hospitality, so I get it. Maybe a bad day? I called the Semrau Law Firm with my unusual case. It was a DUI from 14 years ago. Mr. Semrau did not fill me with unfounded hope or claims of unrealistic expectations in my initial call. Which is why I hired him, he was honest and upfront with me right from the start. Another factor that made my case slightly more of an issue, I no longer live in GA, nowhere near, in fact. I hired Scott Semrau to help me with 3 traffic tickets that I was wrongly given. After working on the case for a few months, Scott was able to get 2 removed, and 1 reduced to a rules violation in which I received no points on my license and only had to pay $50. Called the office to give a brief description of my daughter's accident. Attorney Scott called me back within minutes to let me know he can handle the case and give me his fee (which was very reasonable). Not only did I not have to appear in court for my ticket, Scott got a number of postponements I would not have been able to get myself, so that I could get done what I needed to do to clear my record. I never felt rushed or felt that I was a bother or an inconvenience. He called me and said it was done, there was no fine and I was clear.
