Steven J. Smith, M.D.,F ACS, a native of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, established his plastic surgery practice in Knoxvile in 1993. Prior to that time, Dr. Smith was an Assistant Professor in Plastic Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Smith's training includes residencies in surgery, otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat), and plastic surgery.
Myth 1 - Only plastic surgeons can legally perform plastic surgery. No regulations govern what type of medical practitioner can perform plastic surgery procedures. So the best way to know your surgeon is qualified is to choose an ASPS Member Surgeon. Myth 2 - Plastic surgery procedures cost the same no matter who performs them or where they are performed.

My breast sizes differed by a whole cup. They were sagging and pendulous at such a young age. My shoulders and back ached constantly and I had permanent indentations from having to tighten my bra straps so tightly to hold all of my breast tissue and skin. I just recently had a septoplasty and rhinoplasty don’t by Dr. Smith! From the beginning, the office staff was wonderful and bubbly. Dr. Smith truly listened to me in the consultation and made me feel the most comfortable out of the other consultations I went to. On surgery day, the surgery center staff was just as wonderful. Everyone there was kind, welcoming and were truly enthusiastic about your personal procedure. It has now been two weeks since and I am already breathing a lot better and am so happy and thankful for the beautiful result of my nose that will only continue to improve as time
