Our mission is to develop partnerships and fund innovative projects that will increase the health and prosperity for residents of Marion County. The Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable, educational and social welfare purposes, including but not limited to, such purposes of making distributions to organizations which qualify as exempt under Section 501.

Services
Located at 230 South Main Street in Mullins, South Carolina, the foundation was established in 2010 from the proceeds acquired when the Marion County Medical Center was sold to CHS/Community Health Systems, Inc. The foundation uses its resources to improve the quality of life in Marion County via grants and scholarships to deserving individuals and organizations.
In 1997, The Marion Memorial Hospital and The Mullins Hospital merged and immediately thereafter, construction of the Marion County Medical Center was completed. In 2010, the Marion County Medical Center along with the Mullins Nursing Center and Physician Practices was sold to Community Health Systems in Nashville, TN.
Dianne Herrington, a lifelong resident of Marion County, is a graduate of Francis Marion College. She has worked as the Human Resources Manager with Johnson Controls and Sara Lee in Florence, and has served two years on the Marion Regional Healthcare System board of directors. She is currently employed with South Carolina Works.
As a funder with limited resources, our goal is to focus our grantmaking in the areas that will have the most long-term impact in moving Marion County toward our vision of a healthy, prosperous Marion County. To that end we focus our grantmaking in the areas of Public Education, Access to Health Services, and Workforce Development/Economic Development.
The foundation was established from the proceeds acquired when the Marion County Medical Center was sold. The foundation manages and invests the charitable funds and uses the interest to aid, support and improve the quality of life in Marion County via grants and scholarships to deserving individuals and organizations.
