With over 9 years of experience in professional portraiture, Rachael provides a vision for every portrait session and provides amazing wall art designs for her customer's homes. With her creativity and attention to detail, each portrait session is crafted and planned around her customer, their style and home design tastes.
Let's Begin with the End in Mind, as you start the planning for your portrait session. Before any images are created, you need a plan for where you want your images to be displayed. Rachael Venema Photography assists you through every step of the process to make your experience as easy and smooth as possible.
Rachael Venema Photography offers a full service, start to finish portrait experience. At the end of your portrait experience, you will have beautiful artwork displayed in your home for your family to enjoy for many years to come. From fine art prints, to heirloom albums, and custom framing to meet the design taste of your home.
Being part of the community and serving in many different ways is very important to Rachael. Part of why she is a small business owner is to not only provide for her family and provide an amazing service for her clients but also to be able to give back to her community. We have each been given amazing talents and gifts and when you can use them in ways to serve and lift up others, that is where you can find great joy in your life.
Ideally it's best to book your portrait session during your second trimester. This will ensure that I will have availability in my calendar for your baby's portraits when he/she arrives. Babies like to arrive on their own schedule and so we need to be flexible for when they decide to arrive. We will choose a tentative date for your session based on your due date, but will definitely be flexible if he/she decides to come a little early or late.

If you are looking for someone who will orchestrate your entire experience from outfits to the smallest of details while posing, beautiful editing and just being the upmost professional, you’ll want to call Rachel! Being photographed isn’t always a comfortable feeling, but Rachel is very personable and warm. I was relaxed and felt very good about the pictures, because she made sure I loved them before I left the studio! I can’t wait to use these professional head shots in my new marketing ads! Rachael is beyond a photographer, she was so helpful throughout the process. First off, she starts by coming all the way to your home. She brings sample materials for frames, photo book covers, and she goes over every item in your portrait folder, which includes a style guide. Which was so extremely helpful to us, we were able to pick the color palette in which we wanted to wear for our pictures. She also has clear details for your ordering appointment. Also, has an Investment guide, so you are clear on what your costs will be. Which in my opinion she goes so far to help you throughout the process

Rachel is not only a super talented photographer but an incredibly organized business woman who kept me informed every step of the way. Before my business brand shoot she met with me at my office to see what I wanted and the space she would be working in and what I could expect during the day. The headshots were at her studio and she provided different backgrounds, props , and settings. It’s important to surround yourself with talented people and Rachel far exceeded my expectations

Rachael is wonderful! Her attention to detail, professionalism and quality of work is the best I’ve ever seen. I was worried my 5 year old wasn’t going to be cooperative. Racheal came prepared with goodies to reward him for his patience. Her Covid protocols were in place especially silly when we visited her studio to view all the photos. We had a memory album made and the quality is spectacular. Not to mention her sweet goodies and extras. I highly recommend her for family photography.

Rachael did a fantastic job on our beautiful custom wall portrait and prints. She is so friendly and professional and a true pleasure to work with. Rachael is a true artist and consummate professional. I asked her to capture photos of our newborn (and firstborn) child because her portfolio showed that she was an expert at her craft. I wasn't sure if I'd invest in any art because I've always found family portraits to be a bit stiff and cheesey. But the photos we got back we're nothing of the sort -- candid, intimate, and effortless. A gorgeous album, canvas, and a few prints later, I'm a total convert. I already knew that I’d receive great value from scheduling a photo shoot with, Rachel Venema, but I was still very much impressed. Rachel put me at ease throughout the photo shoot, made sure that I looked great by fixing my hair and clothes throughout, and just overall cared for my appearance and comfort. Starting a new career path during a pandemic was scary enough and then I was told I needed a head shot. I thought Nnnnoooo! I like taking pictures, not being in them and especially not alone. Upside was searching for a photographer was easy, I had been following Rachel’s page and I loved her work. Reaching out to her was simple and she responded quickly. She’s so organized, helps with outfits and sends reminders (which I need). I have to say I was so nervous, but Rachel is so calming and supportive. I loved my experience and I love love my head shot. We loved our experience working with Rachael. She made it very easy to prepare for our family photos. She even made a list of wardrobe options based on our styles which was very helpful since it’s been the hardest part for me in the past. The kids had so much fun at the photo shoot as Rachael knows exactly how to keep children engaged during photos.
