We offer traditional Hatha Yoga classes (see Schedule). No heat. No fast (vinyasa) movements. Instead of hands on adjustments, we offer verbal corrections and suggestions to support you because we know that you're a better student when you learn to let your body show you the way. Our Specialty is to provide a safe space for those that are young at heart who desire to feel better.

We believe Yoga and Meditation is for Everybody. Our Mission Statement from 10 years ago has not changed: To educate and assist our students and clients in joyfully reclaiming their bodies' natural ability to heal and move towards a greater sense of wholeness in body, mind and spirit. ABT Yoga serves many communities on the North Shore of Boston.
Services
To be clear, at ABT Yoga you do not watch us practice and join in. We teach with clear verbal cues rather than doing the yoga or demonstrating. We believe having our eyes on you makes us better teachers. On offer are traditional Hatha Yoga classes. No heat. No fast (vinyasa) movements. Verbal corrections and suggestions are offered to support you because we know that you're a better student when you learn to let your body show you the way.
Yoga is practiced all over the world as a means of physical health and fitness, of mental strength, and well being for your body, your mind, and your spirit.

Hatha Yoga includes: Breathing Practices to help still the mind, slow down the body while increasing your energy levels; Postures and Body Movement to develop strength and stamina, to increase our flexibility and to improve our balance and coordination; Deep Relaxation to alleviate tension and stress while inducing calmness and inner peace, leaving one refreshed and with greater awareness which can offer insight into long standing physical and emotional conditions.
The teacher training program at ABT Yoga is nothing short of transformative. Ken Lidden offers teacher training that goes well beyond the nuts and bolts of asanas to dive deep into yoga's ethical and spiritual aspects as well. Students learn to offer classes that are inclusive, accessible, and rooted in kindness.
Are you new to yoga? Do you prefer to practice one on one? Maybe you have some physical challenges that have kept you from trying a group yoga class? If so, private sessions at ABT Yoga with Ken or Kelley might be a great fit for you. Yoga at its heart it is healing practice. No matter your age or fitness level, you can do yoga.
You will be guided safely and with awareness you will enter into a place where body & mind not only meet, but engage each other. You listen, and without judgment, you become empowered to let things be as they are. This creates the opening for deep acceptance and a release of underlying charged emotions or beliefs that have often manifested into chronic aches and pains as well as stress and anxiety in your life.
