Meghan keeps the business side of our school humming. She has an eye for detail which makes her a meticulous record keeper and a stickler for policy adherence. Her compassionate spirit enriches everyone around her. To Meghan, Hillsboro is a second family and she loves using her gifts to help grow and strengthen the school.
Dorothy began as a parent volunteer by giving tours and marketing Hillsboro to surrounding communities. She brings almost two decades of management experience to our Operations Director position. Her background in management and sales has aided in our growing enrollment and, as a self-proclaimed people fanatic, she loves getting to know our current and prospective families.

Montessori realized the responsibility we have as adults to educate children in a way that protects their individuality while calling them to contribute to making our world a better place. Through integrated, inquiry based curriculum, designed to foster connections between and across subject areas, we teach students how to set goals, monitor their progress, and challenge themselves to go outside of their comfort zone.
Because children are within their school community for much of their lives, choosing the correct learning environment for them to grow is important! At Hillsboro, we encourage parents to visit and learn about The Hillsboro School, observe their children in the classroom, engage in school outings and special events, and more.
The Hillsboro School is located close to Exits 6 and 10 on I-459, and is only a 10-minute drive from the Target shopping center at Exit 10. We utilize open classrooms and mix furniture such as sofas and chairs with desks and carrels, allowing students the flexibility to learn in the place and style that works best for them.
Only 10 minutes from I-459, between exits 6 and 10, providing easy access to nearby residents and commuters. Grades used in high school and for those middle school students earning high school credit. All middle and high school students required to have daily in-school access to tablet or laptop. Courses include woodworking, music, photography, dance, and graphic arts such as drawing, painting and sculpture.
The Hillsboro School provides a curriculum that allows children to explore and learn in a safe environment. We challenge them to grow to their potential. Our students' passions are encouraged, allowing the opportunity to delve into their favorite topics at advanced rates while simultaneously being pushed to grow in all areas.

My daughter graduated from The Hillsboro School last year, and as a parent I am so thankful for her love of learning, her service-minded life, and that she is pursuing her passions. In the Honors College she continues to thrive in smaller, inquiry- based classes. As a Blount Scholar, she also gets to continue developing her voice through seminars. Hillsboro gave her a solid foundation upon which to soar!

Our journey with The Hillsboro School was a gift. I recognized the enthusiasm of the director but had no way of knowing the magnitude of our decision to enroll our kids. I thought it was a good fit just because they would allow the kids to work at advanced levels in those subjects where they excelled and would make sure they didn’t fall behind in those subjects where they did not excel. We got so much more. Our kids were sponges for the hands-on methods. They were encouraged to ask “why” and pursue where it went. They were given the confidence to think for themselves. The teachers worked

The Hillsboro School is so much more than a facility or curriculum. To us, it's a family of supportive and understanding educators that truly care about our child and finding the best ways for him to enjoy learning and exploring the world. In our first year they have already changed the way we look at education and community, in the most wonderful ways.

This school has a way to empower/encourage children to be independent and also very kind/thoughtful to each students individual strengths. My child has been attending for a couple of years now and to see how she has grown not only socially, but also academically is so amazing. She literally gets excited if it’s a school day (not the weekend). The teachers/Community bring in so much support and encouragement that it literally feels like family. We love our school

My preschooler had such an amazing experience at the Hillsboro school. From the first moment he walked in the door he was greeted by warm, gentle, friendly teachers. They guided him through the room and made him feel comfortable and at home. The environment of the school is one of calm and the atmosphere is peaceful. Just how a school should be! The Hillsboro school is also thoroughly equipped with a wide variety of learning tools that are creative and outside the box of normal learning methods. The children are given independence to explore and learn on their own but also with gentle one on one

This is our third year here at Hillsboro school. In less than 2 weeks after transferring to Hillsboro School, our then 3-year-old, went from tracing letters at his previous pre-school, to reading simple consonant-vowel-consonant books. We had no idea! By age 4, he was on to chapter books. What's more, his growth continues at a rapid pace due to all the one-on-one instruction he receives from caring and talented teachers, as well as the Montessori approach which has ignited a spark for being a self-directed learner and global citizen and great friend. I love that the focus on creating a caring,

The teachers at the Hillsboro School are truly exceptional with outstanding educational credentials. The low student-to-teacher ratio means that my son's learning plan is custom-tailored to his individual needs. He can progress in his learning at the speed that is best for him. He is having truly creative learning opportunities including designing and building robots to participating in extended field trips at historic locations.

The Hillsboro School is an amazing place! We're constantly impressed with the learning opportunities, student achievements, and the outstanding staff. Coming from a public school environment we quickly saw a huge difference in my son's enthusiasm for learning and it hasn't slowed down at all. I love the way the teachers work with the students to understand how each individual learns best and then gives them the tools and freedom to do so. My son is thriving in ways I never expected! Watching him rush out the door each morning to get to school is something I never thought I'd see. It's truly a wonderful

Our family and friends share a wonderful relationship with The Hillsborough School -- Dr. Bray, leadership, teachers and students. Although our two children do not attend Hillsborough because we live far away, you don't have to be at Hillsborough long to immediately feel the draw, peace, respect and enjoyable learning that's in the air! Thanks to Hillsborough, our children have enjoyed the opportunity to participate in FIRST LEGO League Robotics the last several years. The students and leadership at Hillsborough are LARGELY responsible for connecting our children to what has become a passion and

When I was looking for a school to renew my son's love of learning, the Hillsboro School was quickly the obvious choice! The creative learning and multi-faceted integration of all subjects is perfect for his learning style and has renewed his love of exploring our world. In fact, on days that they do not have school he misses it so much that he wishes they didn't have a break! The teachers and students are more like a family and the care and attention is nurturing and encouraging. It is a beautiful sight to see my son flourish!

We started out with our son in Hillsboro School and are happy to have both our daughter enrolled as well. The smaller class sizes allow the teachers to work with each of the children, delivering the material in a way that's based on the child. The interaction with other children of varying ages I believe has helped our children grow, and the feeling of community within the school helps us feel at home at Hillsboro.

Academics have always been top priority for my husband and me. Our upbringing in rigorous public and private schools gave us a strong sense of knowing what kind of education we wanted for our own children. Testing and achievement is what we know. That is, until we experienced the profound difference that a Montessori education has made for our children.
Our children truly love to learn, and they are rewarded not with grades or gold stars but with the satisfaction of understanding another piece of the world around them. As they mature, they continue to question, think critically and delve deeper
