A premier-quality, comfortable, acoustically awesome venue in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. Listening Room strikes a chord with music lovers who crave a more intimate setting-one that goes against the mainstream concert experience. Our venue's stage is one foot off the ground, creating an instant connection between the artist and the audience.
You'll feel like you're in an underground jazz club, whether you're hearing folk, rock, or any other number of genres. We're teaming up with Long Road Distillery to create a series of signature draft cocktails. Not only are they delicious, we want to make sure the sound of shakers comes from the band, not the bar.

Services
In a culture where live performances have become increasingly more and more impersonal, we decided to build a different kind of experience. One with a world-class sound system and a semi-circle of seating, for more engaged musicians and a more captive audience. Listening Room strikes a chord with music lovers who crave a more intimate setting-one that goes against the mainstream concert experience.

We're lucky to have some pretty great music venues in the area, including the Listening Room. This space is located in the upper level of the Studio Park complex that holds the theatre and One Twenty Three. It's a small, intimate space that feels like you're at a (fancy) house concert or a tiny venue in Nashville. The stage is only a foot off the ground, and the front row is so close that you can read the set lists. There are 200 seats and each spot has a great view. The seating includes soft chairs with small tables throughout the seating area and some cozy booths along one side

This is not a criticism of the actual physical venue, since I never made it there. I was supposed to attend the Los Lobos show which was originally billed for 8PM. The website later posted that there were going to be early and late shows that day instead. Unfortunately it proved to be impossible to get in contact with the venue as there is neither a phone number nor email address for a contact person! This is a big problem which needs to be corrected!

Loved the acoustics...nothing but music to hear. Everyone was there to hear a live performance not to talk over the performance. Parking in the garage cost us $22 from 4pm to 11pm. You can get that ticket validated if you buy a drink downstairs. Listening Room is on the 2nd floor. Bathrooms were nice and clean. You're on that 2nd floor right above the movie theater....craved popcorn all night! Definitely will be back. Reason for 4 stars...not a fan of the drink selection....a little pricey for us, but there is water offered at no cost. Event pricing?

Very intimate venue. Great date night or romantic showing. If you are looking to rock out or dance, this is not a venue for either of those things. However, every seat is a good seat and the drinks are priced well. For anyone wondering how to get here, the listening room is on the second floor of the celebration cinema downtown.

I was a little afraid to go there because I thought I would get lost or not have good seats by the time I get there but it was more than what I expected. This place was awesome, very intimate atmosphere, clean and loved the little desks with the chairs to place our drinks. The best part is you get to meet the band afterwards compared to a larger venue. I'm really glad I drove a long way to The Listening Room and will definitely come back. :)
